Assuming there are no injuries on the training track this week.

We also have Austin, Okeefe and Davies.

Austin has only played a couple of games back from injury for the Bullants. Will need another month you'd think to get some touch and match fitness.

O'Keefe has only played half a game before coming off injured.

Davies and Kerr may be a chance I guess, but you'd think they need more time.

Hopefully Hoops and maybe Bower will be back next week.

These injuries could be a god-send and this could be a ride off year due to injuries but I'd love to see where this list is at.

Few boys at the club have been there 2-4 years and me thinks they need to show their wares..Okeefe, Grigg, Browne, Austin in particular

Bower not back for at least three weeks and Fisher is back in a fortnight.

So this run of supposed easy games will see us having a debutant or two due to this injury crisis...this is a good thing.

Let's be honest, WCE will well and truly fancy their chances.

If we play like we did today, we'll be in trouble.

As bad as we were today if we put together 2 qtrs of football together, be it our 3rd quaters against Collingwood and Hawthorn it will be enough...Even our last quarter of Port Adelaide and first quater against the saints.

I'm confident we get over the line, not by a big margin but the 4 point are ours...nd we'll get to see a little more of our list. :smoking:

Don't think Yaz is too serious, Ratten said he had quad cramping and was rested.

White and Johnson are more worrying (medial ligament strain and suspected wrist fracture) and not sure on the status of Houlihan.

Agree that we struggled against West Coast last year. They are a rubbish side but given our performance this week they'll be feeling a bit more confident. I predict a tough game with us eeking out a win.

god i hate hawthorn and their supporters
been getting countless "we're back!" texts
cant reason with them
they been using the "injury" excuse for 18months
and then say our injuries are just "weak excuses"
annoyed we lost more annoyed at the lack of run
i dont mind them loosing if they give it a real crack
id love to see some debutants next week
not wiggins
bring back the hammer - up forward or down back!!!
and id love to see Davies play - a rebounding defender
and Austin who will perhaps take Thortons spot
Judd had a shocker so he'll monster the eagles midfeild next week
i thought Jamo did his best on buddy but buddys delivery was too good and consistent

Yeah, I know, but they (aUSTIN AND o'kEEFE) are the ones I would consider underdone, and just back from being out injured all year (played only 1-the last- Bullants game), and underdeveloped (Davies).

They're just like Essendon* supporters, they've won 2 games in a row and think they can breeze into the finals. Dunno about Essendon* but Hawthorn have a pretty tough draw ahead of them for the rest of the year (not that ours is brilliant).

Let's please drop Johnson from any kind of reference to our best 22.

His involvement in the game pre injury was diabolical - and that's putting it kindly. Kicks across ground into traffic - and to think he was recruited for his disposal efficiency.

We're struggling if he plays another senior game.

Johnson was pretty decent in the two games prior and has shown he can be called upon if necessary. Not best 22 though, no.

The spelling for those still struggling with it, is O'Keeffe.

For mine:

Out: Johnson (inj), White (inj)

In: Houlihan, Brock

The talk seems to be both will be back in line for selection this week. Hadley & Grigg in the mix also with Browne.

I think we should win, but this is our worst injury run in Ratts time as coach. As many players as we have out, we still generally have our midfield core together, though run out of defence is definitely an issue.

Eagles wont be able to exert the pressure Hawthorn did, so we would have to play fairly poorly to lose.

Eagles skipper Darren Glass in doubt for Carlton clash

Quote:
WEST Coast skipper Darren Glass remains in doubt for Sunday's clash against Carlton as mystery surrounds the severity of his groin injury.
Glass sat out yesterday's 35-point loss to St Kilda due to his lingering groin soreness and Eagles' coach John Worsfold said the 29-year-old defender's immediate playing future was unclear

OK, I know were facinated by our recent injection of speed, but, If Yazza doesn't come up would we consider bringing in Warnock?

I've said all along that Jacobs is a better option in the ruck and around the ground (this was evident on sunday with some ripper contested marks) but if we throw Kreuzer down forward along with Setanta then we can really test their backline now that glass is out.

Just a suggestion.

Kreuzer is a ruckman though ryan and we can't , and shouldn't, play three of them.

Should be a regulation win...but Ratts does not have the group at a stage as yet where we can assume this and this is a cross for him IMO....we are still mentally weak as a group...we should win if we come out firing..but if we give them a sniff I reckon it could be close..and the games against the Dees and North will be no walk in the park either..

We need some consistency with our forwardline - problem is we are never going to get it
their good is going to be very good but their bad is horrible - Setanta and his little helpers are either very hot or very cold - to me it's a worry - all four of them are very fickle and seem to all fire all at once or all go missing together - you wouldn't worry so much if Betts had an off day and Yarren and Garlett chipped in or vice a versa but at the moment thats not happening .

Would not like to go into a finals series pinning my hopes on them carrying us through

I don't think we're mentally weak. We're young and inconsistent.
Given the injury list is about 14 today we are a very young team.

I thought Johnson played a good physical game against Port but the week before against StK he was OK, and this week against Hawks before he was injured, I thought his kicking was terrible, and had a bad game.

I would have thought Hadley is ahead of Brock at this stage, but I'm basing that on the fact Hadley was selected as an emergency this week and had to pull out due to illness, when he could have been selected. Who knows? Brock is definetely favoured over Hadley (for reasons discussed previously) but I didn't think he would be back if the hip was as serious as some suggest. If available. I have no doubt Brock will be selected because of the huge injury list.

Houla out till rnd 11 is strange given that he was nearly a goer against the Hawks; maybe that's tactical to suggest he could've played.

We will not pick experienced players like Bower, Waite and Walker.
Houla and Lucas seem doubtful too.
I'd value a tough in and under to be selected if fit: Hadley and/or Brock.
I doubt Grigg would be selected bc he's been out for a while, and there's no doubt a medial ligament puts White our for sure.

Not many to pick from...and for all we know Yarran may have more than cramp to his quad?? strange one. jimmae? What do you know about quads? I remember having done both when I was training with the Hawks when I was a 17yo. Took ages to come good and needed heavy strapping when I got back. I find the quads the strangest injury I ever had.

I'm not against Warnock playing if Kreuzer plays forward and Glass is out to stretch them. On this fast dry track, playing the 3 ruckmen isn't going to stiflr us too much unless we fill our team with novices with pace (Kerr?) who have yet to develop their stamina for the big time.

We really have to regroup this week in a big way if we are going to win despite playing WCE at home.

Must win. That's all there is to it.

Do it for Josh Kennedy. Remind him that CFC is where he really wants to be.
