As for a fevolaless forwardline at the moment, it is working so far. But will teams work it out during the year and Carlton find itself struggling to kick goals? who knows. Time will tell. Hopefully it continues.
Is there really a lot to work out?
Before it was pretty basic, about two thirds of forward 50 entires would go to Fev. Now 100% of forward 50 entries can go anywhere.
My point was that it was never Fevola's fault the ball was kicked to him 2/3 of the time. It was the coaches/players that made that mistake/decision. Whether he had ago at team mates for not kicking to him, the players make that decision. If coach says kick it to the best available option and they kick it to Fev with 3 players on him, that player should of been taught a lesson/dragged. That never happened.
If we had Fevola in the forwardline right now with 100% of forward entries going to the best available option, then l would say our forward line would be a even better then it is now. Even though right now the forwardline looks great.
I can safely say l would prefer Fevola in the goal square having the ball kicked to him 5 times a game then Setanta 5 times a game. So to say Carlton are better off without Fevola in the forward line is a bit silly.
The only thing that has changed is the coaching staff have realised they need to use all options available now and if they did that last few years, we would of had more success.
But, lets not live in the past, Fevs not there so why this thread open.
