Beacause he is not quick enough on the rebound. Especially early in games. Best spot is like Goddard as a get on/get off half backer. Using his kicking and decision making to open up the game. Today his player is taking him deep and is a bit freaky.

I reckon he will be slowly released up the field as the game goes on.

Murphy needs to pull his finger out - workrate has been fairly poor the last few weeks. Has to learn to deal with the extra attention.

Not to Channel 7 sport director; Sometimes we might like to see what is happening beyond the 2 feet either side of the football. It's not Homo and @#$%&! away ya know!

This close up vision is why I've turned off most TV footy :banghead: .

We came out like we were trying to conserve energy with the 5 day break....letting Port waltz around. Lifted intensity in the 2nd quarter, and if not for 2 terrible umpiring decisions would be in front (Gibbs handballed it and got pinged for incorrect disposal and then Juddy raped). Big test of our fitness this half. I'd put JR on Motlop and leave Gibbs in the middle as he just hasn't got the strength to stop Motlop who is a genuine freak forward.

The brothers have been ordinary so far today. Up and down like yo yos, which is what expect from young blokes. Setanta having a great year

Murphy's had probably the best 2 taggers in the business last week and now today. Its not just him, the team need to work over his opponent and help out.

What's wrong with Lucas? Haven't seen him since early in the first quarter.

agree, best position rebounding off halfback

caught trying to do too much a couple of times today, needs to go first option in tight situations

The 5 day break and poofy white jumpers doesn't help.

Agree, he should have the fitness base by now to run his opponents ragged.

Monty did say at 1/4 time we were a man down. :(

We are still getting thrashed out of the middle. Throw Gibbs into the middle ... Put Army on the ball.

Come on Blues!

Carrazzo has had 14 but what has he done with them?

I have zero confidence, think Port will win

Them not having much lumber to exploit is making this game harder than those against the Cats and Saints. They line up like us in a way. A few talls surrounded by loads of midfielders. Medium sized freaky forwards and a rebounding backline.

We are better than them so we should win if we have enough fuel in the tank.

Is going to be tough.

Murphy first touch is a head high tackle free to Port
