I've been concerned about this for a couple of months now.

No doubt Gibbs and his management would be silly not to leverage off the GC to try and 'beef up' a deal. But I think there may be more to this now.

For one - Gibbs may consider himself a little stiff that he plays second fiddle to Judd, Murph etc. Not sure whether playing off half back would be his preference. He could justifiably be the no. 1 midfielder at at least another 8-10 clubs.

Secondly - not being a Victorian means that he naturally would not feel the same way about staying here as another Vic boy would. Yes I know he is from SA but still living at GC would be like living in Vic for him - both are away from his home state.

Thirdly - with almost all of the big names turning their back on GC (apart from Ablett who is yet to decide) there would obviously be a fair bit of money on offer. Just like many would agree that it would be tough for Ablett to say no to $1.5mil a season....similarly it would be tough for Gibbs to say no to a deal close to $1mil a season which I think he probably could get.

And finally if we put all our personal preferences aside - life for a 22 year old in the Gold Coast earning $1mil a year to play footy would be a pretty sweet deal.

I like all Blues fans will be devastated to lose Gibbs. Our future captain IMO. But we would be very naive to think that he will not seriously give consideration to a GC deal.

Kots you sound just like the guy from the 'Wayne the Worrier' ads on 3AW radio. I can even hear the intonation of his voice as I read your post

Gibbs will be signed sooner rather than later. Stop getting your knickers in a bunch.

I remember when Gibbs was drafted abd there was a lot of talk about him returning to Adelaide, Gibbs responded saying he wants to be a one club player.

I think Carlton is a home to Bryce. Don't forget the Kernahan connection too, close family friends.

It will just be sorting out the 3rd party payments now that is holding things up

It's that old saying Cazzes how does it go..........?

"Being negative is the best I'm so damn happy that I'm depressed!!"

Some people are just never happy unless they can worry or stress about something. I dare say winning a premiership is just as important to Bryce as money, perhaps more so.

Thats true jake, I remember both he and his Dad saying he will be a one club player.

Unfortunately its irrelevant when BF and Hutchy report he's entertaining offers from the GC.

The Wayne the Worriers (thanks Cazz) around here are more concerned with rumour.

I can't believe people stress so much over something that they have absolutely no control over.

Sure I'd love him to stay (and think he will) but if he leaves, good luck to him.

Good luck to him and theN OUR premiership chanceS go back a few steps. That is why people stress because they want success and they want it now. Just like that little brat in Charlie and the Chocolate factory who wanted a golden ticket.

I WISH SHE WAS A CARLTON SUPPORTER, WE WOULD WIN THE CUP EVERY YEAR. DAD WOULD GET THE CHEQUE BOOK OUT.

You just had to mention the cheque book winning us the cup every year now didn't you  Images just came flooding book of lost draft picks, hope gone, getting smashed...I am now crawling away into a corner to whimper for a bit

Hopefully thoughts of form fours and the resurgence will snap me out of it...starting to feel a little better...wipes away a tear

I'd swap him for Port's Motlop.
He is everything I want in a player, takes make of the year, kicks goal of the year, does funny things with his hands after he kicks a goal and does sweet F.A. for the rest of the game.

Does Bryce Gibbs look like an Oompa Loompa?

The latest speculation from 'The Age', although when you've finished reading, it still doesn't say much...

Not really quite sure of the point of that article. Didn't really say anything at all, except that Carlton are trying to work out how much to offer Gibbs. Who would've guessed it?

True, though it is an interesting question....is Gibbs worth as much as Selwood? I think he has the potential to be a better player than Selwood in future years, but he probably hasn't quite put the runs on the board that Selwood has so far.

Is gibbs worth to his side equal to selwoods worth to the cats ? I would say selwood is worth more to the cats knowing that in the coming years they are going to age.

I reckon Gibbs should get a little less than what Murphy gets.
