Attitude of players after the match worries me abit.

Hopefully complacency doesn't set in...will be a tricky task for the coaching staff to get their minds right during the week.

Confidence is more than good - but knock the wind out of overconfidence if it does exist, which by the looks - it does.. if they are set with the right mindset with a steely resolve nothing will stop us.

Some very, very sharp work, Heavs.

Top notch stuff.

My predictions:

Aj on Robbie Gray

Carrots to Boak

The match-up for Rodan is an unknown for me, who has the strength and speed to go with him

Cloke in for Tredrea, and he will be instructed to throw his weight around as they wont be too fussed if he misses a few weeks through suspension............

Enter Carlos who can kick that feral right up the date :fight:

In: Grigg
Out: Johnson

Santy for 5

The 3 amigos to combine for 7

Gibblet to play a blinder

Smurph BOG

Blues by 27 Pts

I think you have a good point cause I believe we have been guilty of this in the past on a few occasions.

Ratten played it down also.....mentioned our inconsistency so maybe he is trying to keep a lid on things too.

Learning from experiences is so important to a developing team. This week's match is a fantastic opportunity to see if the players (and coaches) learned anything from the Collingwood game - because, once again, we're coming off a short week following a big win against a Grand Finalist from last year.

We're not good enough yet to get away with a less than 100% focus and effort against decent sides. It wasn't quite there against Collingwood and we lost by 50 points.

I think we've seen so far this season that when we're switched on, we can match it with the best in the competition (see the Geel & St K games, and parts of the Brisbane & Collingwood games)...but when our concentration and intensity drops off, we can look very ordinary (see the Ess game, and parts of the Brisbane & Collingwood games).

We have a good recent history against this mob, but they will be setting themselves to make a statement at their home ground. We'll need to be 'up' for this one, make no mistake. But if we play near our best, Port won't be up to it....

My only change would be:

In
- Grigg (if fit - otherwise Hadley if fit)

Out
- Johnson

This will be a real test of our resolve.
A full committed team effort should ensure we win......anything less and Port will win.

Unless Brock or another inside mid is right to play, no change IMO.

Trying to inject even more pace into the side Jimmae? If Brock is fit to play, he should try and get some form in the 2s. Last night was the most even performance I can remember. No change unless forced.

You must have missed Judd being down on contested possessions because he was getting absolutely swarmed in the clinches. There was one instance where 3 saints converged on him in a stoppage.

He can't take that type of battering every week.

Agree with this, which is a change.

Lets add more pace and build a team to really burn up the MCG come September, let alone the Dome or AAMI.

IN: Bower Walker Hampson
OUT: White Thornton Jacobs

EMERG: Henderson Warnock Robinson McLean

Can someone tell me what the attitude of the players was after the game?

Enough said

Carlton by 40 points...we more than match up with these guys and playing in Adelaide against Port is like a home game for us.

Tredrea out is a plus, also Salter who has been on fire has been suspended in the AFL, so it looks like either Cloke or Nash will get the gig to replace Wazza.

There will be a massive Carlton crowd there, and I'll be one of 'em.

Am doing coordinating Auskick again so will be on the ground, and lining up in the guard of honour for Carlton (well our team is meant to be Port but I'm lining up at the Carlton side  )

If we are switched on we'll smash 'em.

They've beaten no-one of note except St Kilda :donk: and Geelong smaked a new asshole.

Carlton by 68 points

Do you base all your opinion on what Tim Watrson says on Ch 7 after the game?

How did reigning in the players celebrations after a St Kilda win work for him?

Think we will be more inclined to drop Johnson than Thornton (even if T-Bird isn't playing his best footy).

If push comes to shove, who would you pick out of them in your best 22 to save your life? I would pick Thornton.

Is T-Bird on some bizzare bonus deal where he gets extra $$ per backwards or sideways kick?

BTW I said before the Collingwood game I would take us being 4-4, so going with that I am expectig little on Sunday but hoping for the best

Johnson looked like he has been working on his physical side of the game, he seemed to go in for the hard ball with more conviction. Having not played at this level for some time it takes a few games to get used to it. I would like to see him in the team for another two weeks. Same with Thornton, give them a chance.

I was a little worried with Lucas. I wouldn't drop him because the good things he does outweighs the bad but when he gets tackled or is under serious pressure, he panics and gives it up too easily. Over the last few weeks, he has kicked without looking. I'm probably being too harsh on a first year player but it's something that's been on my mind the last few weeks. He has still exceeded expectations.

I agree on both points. I thought Johnson brought more intensity to his game on Monday and was good with limited opportunity. No reason to drop him. Was more intent on the contest and tackling. Thunbs up from me

And Lucas did worry me a little. Dont get me wrong the kid is a gem, but was too sloppy on Monday. Maybe a spell cant hurt. Just his first year after all
