After last weeks loss to the Pies, this would have to be the ultimate remedy.

Obviously we all hate Collingwood more than any other, that's a given, but honestly, St Kilda for me are not too far behind.
I know a lot on here would have Essendon* and Richmond well above them in the hatred list, but not for me.
I actually don't think there is an AFL list with more individuals that I despise.

In particular - Milne, Gram, Montagna, Baker, Goddard.

Ahhh it feels good. I'm going to sleep well tonight!

Succinct.

If that performance doesn't give the coaches and players full belief then I don't know what will.

That win should be the turning point for this club.

Full credit to Ratts and the coaches for the turnaround since the Essendon* game. The realisation that a reactive/methodical/slow/indirect style of play won't get us anywhere.

Fantastic Carlton.

It was so cool coming into work today :smoking:

I have to say, I was WRONG about Rattens approach to the game. I was negative before the game and I was WRONG WRONG WRONG.

Well done to everyone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its hard being a Carlton supporter. Taking each game as it comes.

But geez last night was enjoyable.

jake its not so obvious that we all hate Collingwood. I don't. A little history. We have won 16 premierships and beaten the 'woods in 5 grand finals, so we have a lot to thank the 'woods for. If your Collingwood mates ever tell you how well they are going during the season tell them home and away matches count for nothing and talk premierships as I always do and see the reaction.

Now if you want to talk hate there's Essendon*. Mind you its hard to hate them too since they got rid of Sheedy and the pretty boy retired. They did the right thing and traded the rapist (alleged) and you almost have to pity them because they have the worst coach in the league which their supporters are the first to tell you about.

Okay, I talked myself out of Essendon*. Your right. The aints it is.

How sweet is this .... one window shuts for one side & another is about to open for the other
And they still have nothing to show for it ... take that Demefroot & comp. & SHOVE IT as far up your clakker as it goes.
I'll never forget what you did to my team and revenge will be sweet. :gift:

I find it quite ironic that the media have questioned Carlton and how the hell we were going to kick enough goals without Fev. StKilda loses Reiwoldt and Chelsea have scored more goals than them in the past couple of weeks.

Having something close to that right now. Possibly due to the celebratorial bit.

@#$%&! me...cannot believe the game I watched last night.

What I saw:

Precision field kicking
Precision hand passing
Precision decision making
Intense tackling
Intense foward pressure
Intense defensive pressure
Absolute composure
Accurate goal kicking after the start of the 1st qtr
Strong marking
Great team play
Excellent strategic coaching

Dare I say it, I may be describing a Geelong premiership side. We have seen the above before, but I don't think I have seen them all in one game from the boys like last night.

I am a happy man.

Noticed in The Age that Jake Niall didn't give a vote to CJ or JR. (Gave Hayes 7)

Russell not even mentioned in the best players in The Age. ( Your'e a good judge Jake :? )

He must have watched the game from the bar

Maybe this was in the pre match thread, not sure, but here's an interview with Ratts from Rohan Connolly prior to last night's game...

Maybe he was getting his games mixed up. Juddy and JR along with Carrazo were the best players on the ground. :screwy:

Sensational last night, so glad i went.
The best 4 quarter game for a long time.
Everyone talks about all Carltons number 1 draft picks, well look at these names;
Simpson-pick 45
O'Hailpin-international rookie
Betts-PSD
Armfield-pick 50's
Thornton-rookie draft
Houla-pick 70's
Garlett-rookie
Jacobs-rookie
Jamo-rookie
Carrazzo-rookie
Joseph-rookie

half our side!

The Naughties are finally behind us!!!!

What a game, and what a team we now have. Ratts and the MC have to be congratulated for learning on the job, for the gameplan, for the flexibility he is instilling in the players.

And I might be a lone voice here but I see real positives in the tempo footy they are learning to play: go hard early, establish a lead, then keep the lead. When ball gets held up it doesn't look like how footy should be played, but it's necessary for the style we play. No team can keep the pace up for 4 quarters, we will need to slow it down late in quarters, deny a potential run-on (how many of those have we endured these last few years), have a break from the break-neck speed, and re-load the midfield for another phase run-on footy. Against Collingwood we should have done just that at the 17min of the 3rd quarter. We spent all our petrol tickets getting to within 3 points only to see them run over us with the next 5-6 goals.

Good morning all!! ahh what a joyous morning! despite waking up to freezing temperatures here in melbourne, i don't think there's anything that could ruin my mood this morning!!

I haven't been on here in ages, but had to come on and commend whoever rang sen last night to advise that Carrazzo is finally going to get his rising start nomination!

It was even more funny hearing it from my poor mum who said to me 'carazzo played so good, they were saying on SEN he'll probably get the rising star this week'

hehe capped off a great night!

Great win blues, we turned the saints into an absolute rabble

and it's great seeing juddy's fist pump front page of the scum this morning too!! enjoy your week all, nothing better than a win to brighten up a long week at work!!

Someone should tell Milne that Aaron Joseph is a) Male, and b) conscious.
