SS is an awesome joint about now. Trolling after the GF was fun because they were sad and depressed. Trolling tonight is no fun because no matter which player you drill out on there will be someone there agreeing with you. They are angry angry losers over there.

St Kilda, by beating Carlton tonight, can equal the greatest run of consecutive defeats it has inflicted on a club in its history.

Didn't happen.

Great game to watch, thanks to Jimmae.
Not worth going back to bed.

My play of the day? Garlett's 3 bounces and pass to Waite. That kid is seriously fast.

Setanta's worth to the team can't be overestimated. He is never beaten in the air, has great recovery, hits the packs hard and is deft off the ground. That goal he gave Garlett was amazing. A little Gaelic toepoke to himself, a possession, handball and BANG!

So BS - want the DVD?
Only saw the game from half-time, Penny's birthday but she was happy for me to get the 10 goal win as a present. reckons a happy me is a happy household!!

Fantastic win by the boys tonight. Really good signs that some of the things that Ratten has tried to put in place over the pre-season are starting to work. It didn't look so good all those weeks ago, I must admit but full credit to the coaching staff nad the boys for how they have turned it around after the Essendon* game.
It's particularly pleasing that some of the favourite whipping boys of days gone by that the MC have stuck by have been really good this year - talking most specifically about Russell and Houlihan. Jordy has been our defensive general and really provides us the attacking half back flanker that provides us with the run that we have been really missing...and he can shut down an opponent too. I know stats sometimes don't mean a lot but 35 disposals at 80 per cent efficiency is a great return - and the third time this year he has posted a career high. Just goes to show the boys really look to him coming out of the back half now and his confidence is increasing daily as a result.
As for Hoops, his last four weeks have been brilliant. In successive weeks he has taken Goodwin, Enright, Shaw and Fisher to the cleaners, particularly Fisher this week - 6 disposals, compared to Hoops' 17 and a goal. That is four All-Australian calibre attacking defenders - when you see the damage Russell is doing at the other end for us, his role has been really underrated.
I also love when Carrots plays the kind of role that he did on Dal Santo. When he doesn't kick chase he has fantastic discipline and it also allows Joseph to play back which helps the matchups in our back six.
Scotland's move back to the midfield has been another win for us, gives us extra depth and hardness around the contest (and he provides better skills than McLean/Hadley). Even with Murph reasonably held, Gibbs probably just lowering his colours to Goddard and Judd breaking even with Hayes, we still dominated in the mids due to lesser lights like Scotto, Carrots and Simmo stepping up again.
And how dangerous were our forwards. Waite and Garlett set the tone (so good to see Jarrad's first quarter) and Eddie and Setanta were the cream. Love that every week, it seems to be someone different stepping up.
Can you tell I'm happy!!! GO BLUES!!

what a game!!!

play of the night honors must go to carrots, on the defensive 50, ball rolling out, quietly flicks it inbound to a running player, up the other end, GOAL!

LOVE seeing milne and kosi getting smacked

I was happy at 3/4 time, shut up shop and take home the points, but nooooooooooo .. Eddie just had to turn it on for us :smoking:

Anyone want to bag JR? Anyone? Someone on Gameday said JR is in All Australian form

Now White may have stuffed up a couple of times, but the kid is everything we've lacked out of defence with his endeavour, movement and generally good foot skills. Keep playing him as he is the future.

If anyone missed the Yarran interview on Channel 7 I'll sum it up for you:

- Saints defenders are slow
- I'm faster than Eddie and Garlett over 15 and 100m

I think Yazz might be in for some Media training this week

Did I say how good our role players were tonight? Hoops, AJ and Carrots did the team jobs and smashed their opponents.

9 season of misery to this mob had been released in 3hrs of power, anyone with a negative to say is seriously demented :banghead:

I am enjoying a celebratorial beverage.

I remember downstreaming Carlton vs St. Kilda games on a dial-up connection in Perth and listening to the commentators obliterate any hope we may have had for the future as St Kilda rubbed it in gleefully.

I remember hearing commentators compare us to a sub-grade VFL team and St Kilda as premier material as the Saints kicked goal after goal after goal....

I remember hearing that the Saints players were trying to take speccies for the hell of it given the extraordinary margin.

I am enjoying a celebratorial beverage.

I don't care if celebratorial is a real word or not.

Thankfully we didn't drop Hoops for this week. He's playing that defensive forward role to perfection, so much so St Kilda were trying to make Fisher accountable by manning up on Waite, they moved him forward, moved him on ball.

Great games from so many.

I was really impressed with Sauce though. He made himself a target through the middle of the ground and took some impressive marks.
