That's incredible! 25 years of working in the field of behavioral psychology and I could not properly deduce such a result. Especially based on a few lines on a website with no knowledge of a persons reasons for writing it or their history/gender/religious background/sexual orientation/family history/age or state of mind.

Simply amazing. Well done!

PS By the way do you know that the slower the actual speed of someones brain the more productive and clear thinking their thoughts are?

If you're a psychologist, then you should know that many academics/intellectuals are full of shit, full of themselves ;) and waffle on repeatedly because they like the sound of their own voice. *cough* Kevin Rudd

And none of what you've listed means you're an expert at recruiting and football like you believe.

Sheedy was a plumber with rat cunning.

Yet you're dead certain you're 100% correct.

And just like Sheedy, you'll carry this "academics/intellectuals are full of shit" chip on your shoulder for the rest of your life.

That was a genuine joke; he's only said "I hope you're right!" in response to comments on McLean at least 5 times in this thread.

I'll look back at the pre-season discussion. I made the comment back then that McLean's form was superior, and I definitely wasn't alone. In the mean time I'll clarify; I have a recollection of you gathering an understanding that Hadley's form was superior, and making note of it then, and now recently because of McLean's poor performance.

If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong; it's happened before, it'll happen again. I certainly wasn't accusing you of anything other than re-iterating a broader opinion, so I don't follow the sharp response.

Quote:
I stick up for you for years and years, mainly out of pity, whilst you cop it left right and centre at TC for being a smartarse, for making up stuff , plagiarism, and for being cocky.

I don't understand how you expect me to respond positively to any of that sentence. I don't need pity; guilty as charged on being a smart arse; guilty as charged for quickly making posts and occasionally muddling up the details; plagiarism? I can only think of the mojo 'incident', where there wasn't plagiarism, so much as a man ranting about being quoted on another forum without his explicit consent; you're misreading frustrated (mostly with blue4) and sarcastic as cocky.

WTF are you on about :?:  :|

All the negative talk about Mclean and Henderson reminds me of the bagging of Russell, Yarran and Walker.

And haven't they turned to be terrible players this year.

Can we change the title of this thread to "The Let It All Out Thread" and move it to Stuff or Issues? It's clearly no longer about Brock anymore, rather a place on TC for poster to address issues they have with other posters. Which I reckon is awesome!!!!

Personally, I don't like how Sydney Blue can't stand Sentanta, even if he plays well, just because he's Irish. Seems a bit racist to me.

I've just finished reading through most of the pre-season threads. I'm going to stop now but let's say I've scoured about 80% of what would constitute discussion on Brock v Hadley.

Here's a list of names that wanted Hadley in the mix ahead of Brock:

LozAzules
BV
latte thanks
tap in 79
Kruscendo (was 50/50 on Brock v Hadley)
Blue4ever
ABNS
Yourself
Psych

Plenty of people wanted both of them to play. Plenty felt he was always going to be behind Brock but acknowledged his form was close to selection and he was moving well (I was one of them).

Also, I saw blue4 mention he was a fan of the Brock trade.

I note and acknowledge you felt Hadley was in better touch watching the two on the track and at the Sydney match. I also watched the Sydney match on TV, but attended every other pre-season game except the WC match, and Brock showed progress with every one. I'd wager he had an issue in the Sydney match, I certainly remember him being KO'd in another pre-season game, and now he has a hip issue from a decent knock in the Dons match.

What I noticed about Hadley when I was able to view him was that he didn't have another gear when the tempo of the game lifted; he became useless in the physical and running stakes. Brock only became useless in the running stakes, but still ran to better spots than Hadley did to present.

This appeared to be at an even worse state come the Bullants telecast on ABC, as Hadley rarely was involved in link play when it was apparent he should have been. Doc S has noted he has been read the riot act regarding this aspect of his game, and told it needs to improve for him to gain selection. He still nearly secured automatic selection in case McLean missed another game with his hip problem, and probably would be playing this weekend if he was fit.

I don't come on here looking to berate people, or single out people for anything other than a point of discussion. Maybe this place is getting to me like it has before, and does everyone at some point. Either way, I'll take the rest of this week off and pop up post-game.

Mclean came in second in the time trial in January, beating Judd, now he's being questioned as the slowest player in the AFL.
It just doesn't make sense?

Is his hip injury really O.P?

I've noticed quite a few ALF clubs this year are listing players with O.P as having a hip injury.
is this because it doesn't carry the same stigma?

Well 3 weeks ago he had a ceased back/ankle issue.
2 weeks later hes out with a hip injury.

If a player is carrying a niggling injury they could look slower. Look at JB two weeks ago, wasnt good at all with a groin injury.

Brock looked good Round 1 or 2 with 27 possessions, did not look slow

Brock has played 3 good/very good games for the club, and 2 shockers (one of which he was injured, the other most likely injured as well).

The problem isn't so much that he is rubbish, its more about will he get his body right.

Maybe we need sub's in the AFL then Hadley and Brock can play half a game each

I will add myself to the list of those who rated Hadley ahead of McLean in the pre-season. I didn't write much on it but on Mar 16 in 'Pre Season Summary' thread I wrote ....

"I also think Hadley is important and ahead of McLean."

I based this on watching 3 pre-season games live + NAB cup game on tv. I had a high opinion of McLean's ability before he was recruited but I was disappointed by what I saw pre-season and was hoping it was due to heavy training load. He has generally been better in the season proper but still not good enough imo and certainly not better than Hadley.

The game has changed and the pace of it has lifted to another level. Take a note of the players playing at senior level. Many would not have played 5 years ago, but for the need to run, spread, zone and flood. They have the interchange/rotations to thank enabling them to participate at this level.

The interchange rules will change, to the point that teams who have selected running machines instead of footy skilled players will be impacted.

Is Mclean slow ? NO. But in amungst a competition which allows its players to be rotated so heavily, players like Brock can struggle to enforce their ability to grind their way through.

Ditto for Richard Hadley.
