I am and have always been a big fan of Brocky. I know he didn't have a good game on Sunday and for some strange reason he does look slower than I remember him. Not sure if he is carrying something or injuries have slown him down that much over the last few years but have faith in him. He can play and he is exactly what we need to complement our midfield.

Roll your eyes all you want...
Its McLean's turn this week, Warnock's last week, Setanta's the week before....
How many people were slagging off our pick up of Lucas ahead of Talia ? Probably the same people who were going psycho at our choice of Yazz ahead of Rich last year..
Guess some people just have to always find something to sook about...

People making assumptions  Find one post where I have even mentioned Warnock, Setanta, Lucas and Yarran.

Funny, how the point has been made that we need to be more patient with Brock until he settles in, yet Kane is six years younger, new to Melbourne, the AFL, Carlton, senior football, the half back flank and is still physically a baby, yet he has received favourable reviews.

Brock's output is no surprise... it mirrors what he has been producing at Melbourne. Notice how hard Melb fought to keep him !! :gift:
BTW I have seen Brock play live six times this year!

Forgetting his significant shortcomings for the moment, we then stuffed up the trade negotiations.
Contrast our trade negotiations with the way Coll acquired Luke Ball.
No one would have drafted Brock in the top 40 especially with his contract requirements.
He probably could have been acquired in the preseason draft!

The question is, and as usual it get lost amongst peoples vitriol, is he slower or has the game got quicker and he simply cannot keep up?

Its ok Colourman.. just ask that poster for some pom poms.

We go to live games.... every week.....

Basic fact Brock is shit just shit..

If he isnt fit to play don't play him, he is a liablity.... he was shit in the pre season and he is still shit; had one good game against the Tigers that justifies his spot for the rest of the season.

Welll...where are those dam pom poms.

Nothing to do with the game getting quicker, that is just an figment of people's imagination.
Take a look at Geelong's, StKilda's and Collingwood midfield for the answer to this question.
I think he's struggling with something and therefore just isn't quite right. Have faith in him.

He had a poor game but he fills a role for us that non one else can.
Unless we can come up with a better replacement, the point is moot IMO. Let's hope he has a good one next Monday.

I read somewhere that Bentick was as good but much quicker.

Please don't tell me we swapped pick 11 on "a punt".

We took a risk. There's risk in every decision ever made, well, ever. Presumably we did our "due diligence" and felt the risk was outweighed by the chance of reward.

Some of these threads are starting to resemble the original TalkingPlayers for boring repetiveness.

Touche... We apparently also bet we could get an extra pick thrown in when we realized (at the start of trade week) that broken down mids weren't actually worth 1st round picks. Unfortunately those Demon chaps aren't quite as amateur as Swannie thought (or did we really get a promise of gifts to come?).

I'm hoping like hell the Brock trade pans out for us but I would be surprised. We've all been wrong before, and there's at least one embittered soul that is aching to dredge this up next time Brock has a few good games. All the more reason to wish Brock well, poor 'Kouta' needs the validation. In the meantime, I'm sure we'll all call it as we see it, without being intimidated by those that question some people's right to be Carlton supporters.

But at least having them here keeps them out of 'talking Players'

U cant run a site just to talk about facilities.

Expect the coach to be talked about, ditto the players and ditto the admin.

PPl wouldnt bother to come online if it was just to discuss "clash jumpers" and "fundraisers"

A bunch of yes men wont get anywhere anyway, players need to be evaluated and with that comes criticism and differences of opinion.

So you don't think some have invested enough time here into writing off Brock that they'll just 'call it as they see it' if he plays well?

Can you also provide some kind of evidence that we went back to Melbourne and asked for another draft pick? The deal wasn't set in stone, if we felt we needed more from the deal we could have backed out. Sounds like some fiction from those that didn't like the deal.

I guess it's up to the individual whether they volunteer the "I was wrong" routine. I give credit to players that surprise me. I get great delight in seeing a struggler come good or a kid develop. The more of these surprises, the closer to a flag we'll be. Conversely, cavalier trading can take us further away from a flag. It's a pretty simple calculus for me anyway.

I just remember Swann backtracking ever so slightly to the effect that "we might have a chat with Melbourne to get a bit back". That puzzled me. If anyone knows what went on I'd love to know because it just seemed so odd.

Aramari, you're still a chicken little with no idea.

I don't need any validation from supporters who claimed players such as Austin and others were being played out of the position they played as junior footballers.
