Surely the rotations will help him? He has played good footy since then too. As Bluehammer said,it can take time to settle in to a new environment. I feel confident that by years end he will be a solid contributor.

Whats laughable is someone believing (incorrectly) that a lot of the comments are made on five games. The guy has played nearly 100 and hasnt played a good game of football in years. We are not talking about a first year draftee.

As for whipping boy. It is not just about him. Serious questions need to be asked by we gave away a valuable pick in the last uncompromised draft for an injury plagued player with question marks over his ability at AFL level!

I'd prefer to watch their football and analyse their list, and that told me their key contested ball winners were Jones, Moloney & McLean. They've now added Scully & Trengove to that mix after losing Brock, not to mention younger types like Morton & Grimes getting stronger.


That is the definition of a weak draft.

How's this for an exercise: with the exception of Luke Ball & Kane Lucas, analyse the players taken from picks 11 - 43 (our third rounder, which from this discussion I gather is your evaluation of his worth). Tell me which ones you feel rate higher than McLean right now in terms of current ability, then tell me which ones you think will rate higher than McLean in 3 years.

The draft was compromised after the AFL removed all the bottom age picks from the pool.

Or Gysberts who is A grade with his decision making.

These guys would be behind Grigg and Robinson who still need to work on their games.

That's how weak the draft was.

It looks like Carlton will get a bargain with Buckley in 2011.

We support the club. not players nor coaches nor officials... but Carlton and that's it.

Brock for pick 11 is a joke.... period.

How's about we take away all the players, coaches and officals then? You'll be left with the club and still find something to moan about.

Fine with me ! There are always other players, coaches and officials to take their place - but Carlton will remain forever.

Its interesting and it comes form the same people all the time. Happy to argue about some players but if it doesn't suit they bring up the cant be Carlton supporters or support Richmond lines.

As a member/supporter I see nothing wrong with questioning why a player was recruited and what value he is supposed to bring to the club. Actually not slagging the person but the decision!
