I tipped Collingwood to win the premiership before the season started and I think I am the only Carlton supporter who rates the Collingwood team and the players. They are a team of hard working guns so no surprises about the huge loss here.

There midfield has so many options. I would love to see the rotation stats (through the mifield) between the two sides.

Collingwood are the benchmark at the moment.

Exactly what game were some of you watching. JOSEPH OUT???? He towelled davis beyond belief, did he not?

It seems that the blues controlled only 15 mins of footy for the whole game, and should've been within a kick or 2 at 3qtr time. Filth dominated all day, 10 goals is a true reflection.

They have been April/May premiers for about 45 of the last 50 years & how many flags have the cauliflower won :?:

Just got back from game (row D 50 metre arc).......via a 2 hr soujurn to the Royal Hotel.

1. Ratten coached ok. 3rd quarter moves were good.

2. Filth are 2 years ahead of where we are - no question.

3. Sauce. He's sh#thouse and very VFL. Flog him to the Gold Coast while we still can

4. McLean. Simply the worst game from an AFL player I've seen in ages. Must be dropped NOW and not to return unless he's tearing it up in the red jumper. Slow, soft and just hopeless.

5. Joseph. Not really AFL level at the minute. Another worthy of the red guernsey.

6. Kruez. Looks tired and was very ordinary today. Yep, he's a kid and has been great but needs a rest ?

7. Santy

8. Murph

9. Juddy. When you're clear 40m out - have a ping son. no good looking to pin point our fwds when they're one on one. They're not that good.

10. Hendo. No. He's very average and not sure he'll make iit

11. JR

12. Garlett. Very fast but not up to it in big games like this. Too easily brushed aside.

13. Scooter. A "mare" :yikes:

14. Gibbsy

15. Bower. Great player. That's the quality we ned for the 17th.

Have to disagree on these points.

Sauce especially considering its his first game in a year was very good. His ruckwork was something we have been lacking.

AJ although he does need to get a bit more of it gave Davis a bath.

Juddy was awesome.

Nothing to do with the coach...we're young....we need time....yada yada yada

Everything to do with the coach. Matlhouse is the best in the business and we saw that today.

Joseph is very poor at the ball. He maybe a great tagger but doesnt help his mates enough - this isnt the same game from the 90's were Hogg can tag a player out of a game and wash his hands clean whilst bradley, diesel & kouta run riot. he is one dimensional and not good enough....army, j.r bower they are players that deserve top credit.

I got the impression that we lacked any real physical presence in contests and when tackling, we seemed to get brushed aside easily.

I am trying to work out if it was lack of intensity, smaller bodies than Collingwood or an inability to cope with the pressure that they applied, and they applied plenty.

I can't decide if we were just beaten by a better side or if it was a poor performance, having said that it doesn't feel like a 9 goal belting and I think the scoreboard flattered Collingwood a bit.

the one thing I am seriously dirty on was our decsion making and errors, we gifted them a lot of scores by those two things.

I am genuinely confused about how to take this loss and what to take out of the game, other than sugar Lucas, the kid appears to have real talent and desire.

:banghead:  :screwy:

Maybe you and many others at Carlton underestimate them. This is the best Collingwood side I have ever seen.

Fair enough. But Juddy didn't make them pay today...........and that's a fact. Every possie he got was under pressure and that negated his influence. Well done on the filth on that score.

Davis has been crap all year, and a lot of Filth fans I know realise that they can't win a flag with him and Coon Skin Hat in the same side. There's no way that AJ has been as effective as last year.

Sauce........hmmm, we'll have to agree to disagree on that one. One thing is for sure though, he is very slow around the ground ?

That was a major difference for mine. They're stronger and work harder, but their tackling technique looked much better

I am sure you will find that collingwood group was coached in a way where they just sqeeeeezed us and we kicked bakwards more than forward...their planning to stop our quick run as we did against geelong was nothing short of superb... we were simply outplayed by a top drilled side... they were very impressive in the way the forced us in errors then punishing us every single time we made an error...we just got squeeeeezed and turned the ball over alot.. their physical presence had minimal impact.

MIL, what are you on??
Did sauce do any worse than what knockers did for the first 5 rounds??

AJ = 4 kicks, 4 hb's, 4 marks, 5 tackles, 1 free against.
Davis = 5 kicks, 5 hb's, 0 marks, 4 tackles, 3 free's against
If you ask me he did an outstanding job on a AA small forward who killed us last year.
What more do you want??
On this performance you must think Davis is not very afl at the moment too??

The highs and lows of football in the space of six days. I had a feeling with the short week that we would be unable to bring the same intensity from the Geelong game to this one. I didn't expect us to win today but the blowout in the last quarter suggested to me that we just ran out of legs and ideas.

Yes! The overriding factor is that unless we come to play as a committed group like we did last week we will struggle. Simple.
