I thought he was very good in R1 & 2 but agree he was disappointing today in a type of game that suits him. 3 kicks 9 handballs not good enough today.

I was at the game today, maybe I don't know my footy as much as the some on here but I want to know why we held the ball up half way through the quarter when we were in a position to push forward and not at the end of the third when blind freddy could sense they were taking control.

I don't know about that...my kid was down after the game but showed him some of Verbs posts and he was laughing again....

Pressure from Collingwood was immense

They are a good side, thank god ill be at Oktoberfest in Munich on grand final day this year

Back on the game! That was very hard to watch. Nothing more I hate than getting done by the Filth.

The issue is is that what happens when you have such a young side. You get inconsistency.

A couple of points:

1. You ever recruited McLean should have their position questioned. I have friends at Melbourne who couldn't believe what they got for him. They said he was so slow that he wouldnt last another year in the game and it had gone past him. Hard to argue with them after what I have seen this year. Surely Grigg, Hadley, Robbo or even Ellard would be better?

2. Though Sauce did some good stuff and was great around the stoppages and gave Judd an armchair ride.

3. Kruezer - I know he is our best ruckman but we look better as a side with him up forward.

4. Henderson needs to go back for a while and get some confidence. Looks shot at the moment.

5. White after struggling down back went fwd and looked okay kicked a goal and then went straight back to defence. Why?

6. Missed the run of Walker badly. Looked good when Armfield ran the lines.

7. Lucas will be a star. Indictment on others that this kid stands out already.

8. Judd, Simmo, Murphy and Gibbs are genuine stars and with them as the basis we will eventually overtake C'wood.

9. Houlihan - showed why he polarises people. Looks great in space but if he has to tag or shut down someone lacks pace and mental toughness.

10. We will beat St Kilda next week.

Really don't know what to make of this game. When the team were up and going, they looked brilliant. At other times, they looked ordinary. It shouldn't be all doom and gloom, there were several positives to take out of today, despite the end result.

Was very impressed with the way the team fought back after trailing by 39 points at one stage. They could have dropped their heads at that point, and in the time we started coming back was when our best footy of the afternoon was played. Just couldn't break the Pies a little more; whenever we would draw within 3 or 4 points, they would quickly kick one against the flow to get the margin back out to 9 or 10. Setanta played really well against a good side in Collingwood, and correct me if I'm wrong but today he kicked 5 goals and isn't that the most he's ever kicked in a game?

It will do his confidence the world of good, however a bigger challenge comes next week for him against one of the best defensive sides in the competition- St.Kilda.

Simon White and Kane Lucas are coming along nicely; each week they look a bit more settled at AFL level.
