Excellent review

Only a slightly edited version by me would make it bit better.

Jeez..... I hope he's right about Harry O going to Betts.

It'll be halfway through the season before the opposition scouts realise how hard Setant and Hendo work for Eddie.

And Round 17 2013 before most on TC realise

good effort - Its pathetic that the 'best' pre-game review in any of the papers wont be a tenth as this one. Having said that though a few things

1. Houlihan - will play a major role in the game as a defensive forward that has the capacity to kick/setup a few goals. Career best form atm and imo would be top 10 in our B&F atm. I'd probably expect him to take on shaw
2. gibbs - I'd expect him to take on didak

Great read 86.

I Think JR will play on Medhurst personally.

With the benefit of the teams and having seen a few comments from you guys, here are a few changes to matchups.

Agree that Houlihan will forward tag Shaw and look to get dangerous on him. Petterd kicked 4 goals on Shaw and really exposed him.

With Bower back in the team, I actually still think Jamo will go to Medhurst. I'm thinking Waite will come back in as well and go to Dawes...and look to run off him hard...or maybe White as he took Podsiadly last week. I remember Waite killing us last year playing all over the field. You may even chose to use Henderson down back where he looked good late last week. His confidence as a forward is shot at the moment and he is dropping everything. Though he is providing a buffer for the smalls.

If not Jamo to medhurst, then yes it will be Russell. He is much maligned by Carlton supporters (or has been)...but he has done some great defensive jobs this year. Especially on Johnson last week. Mauled him.

Can't believe how far your small defenders have come along. Armfield and Russell have made a real difference.

Who is Joseph tagging??? I have him on Didak. Could it be Swan or Pendlebury?

THomas was ordinary for the first few games this year. His game against the dees was terrible. He touched the ball loads but pretty much everytime he did touch it something positive happened for the dees. His best work that day was without the ball.
His last two games have been better and last week was probably his best game. Essendon* paid him no respect and let him do as he pleased.
He could well be dangerous this week so we need to pay him respect. I think if AJ went to him he would take him forward and outmark him. I think Ratts would have plans for him. You dont wont him involved in the game. He pumps them up.

Pendelbury, Swan and Thomas are your main ball movers so I expect to see Joseph, Mclean & Carrazzo negating them.

The Judd match up will be interesting. Last time they rotated Johnson and Thomas with reasonable effect. Thomas was instructed to run hard offensively at every opportunity and try to drag Judd away from the stoppages. (or expose him with a few goals)
That theory is great if Collingwood win the ball. If Judd gets his hands on it first, they have problems. The challenge for our mids will be to put themselves in a position to exploit the Pies. Dane Swine and co. will be instructed to put physical pressure on Judd and help Thomas and Johnson out. Our mids need to avoid the potential 2 on 1 and either man up Judds opponent or put themselves in an offensive position to recieve the ball. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised to see Wellingham get a crack.

IMO, the dice will be rolled a few times but if someone gets off the hook and does some damage, it will be interesting to see plan B.
