Only two players who are struggling for form. Warnock and Joseph.
I would like to see Jacobs given a go but if Warnock was going to be dropped it would have been in the last couple of weeks. Why this week?
If Joseph goes, why not Grigg? More run than Hadley, still good in close.
And Bower for Walker.
Waite for White? Maybe but don't think so. Don't mess with a winning team.
The philosophy of "don't mess with a winning team' is questionable and lacks the due dilligence required on a week by week basis to select the best team against the upcoming opposing team.
Whilst I think White has done well for a rookie, I do not believe he was as convincing as some suggest.
In retrospect SOS does not get judged on the goals that Ablett and Carey missed, but in the H & A fixture we have to put everything under the microscope, including the facts such as how many shots at goal were afforded to each defenders opponent, because next week's opponent might not miss the opportunities the MC are prepared to give away.
Tippett missed 3 goals
Podsiadly missed 4 goals
These 2 blokes were White's opponent in the last 2 games. If they had slotted the opportunities given to them, then would White be selected with 4 and 3 goals against his name? I doubt it and history under Brett Ratten tells us he most likely would have been dropped. I suggest Waite should take White's position as we shouls err on the side of caution and not take the same risk against our greatest foe.
I do not want to lose against those B & W pricks.
Hence I want to minimise our risks with the team selected.
I might be wrong, but it's how I feel.
Waite is versatile and can play a role forward and back.
Collingwood have Cloke, Dawes, Fraser as their 3 talls.
Jamo takes Dawes at FF
Bower Takes Cloke at CHF
Fraser (200cm mark) is taken by White?
Then there's Didak, Davis and Medhurst who will not be manned as they usually are by Jammo and TBird.
Waite's the man, and when Fraser goes into the middle to give Jolly a spell on the bench, it's easy to swing Waite forward and create a mismatch whilst giving one of our forward sa well earned rest.
We have to win this!!!!
I think we will...the effort against the Bumbers a few weeks ago is a nightmare the players do not want to return to.
