I felt the 2002-07 period we were very consistent. I prefer the emerging/inconsistent 08-10 model.

We can win, if we keep our intensity high, and kick straight (like the last two weeks). Big difference, we kicked our goals, while Adelaide and Geelong missed theres, set the tone for the rest of the match.

Seems like Bower for Walks is the only change.

However, Sauce gave David Fanning a total bath last weekend in the Ants, had 22 possies, and must be coming under serious consideration to switch him in for Warnock. However, I just can't see Ratts making that kind of a change after the Cats game.

Hadley and Grigg also had great games for the Ants on the weekend. Could we switch Hads in for Joseph, who is obviously a bit down on form? Not sure we want Brock and Hads in the same team though. Maybe Brock out and Hads in? Lots to think about on that front.

The other wildcard is Waitey, bring him in? For who?

At the end of the day, these are good issues to have in some ways. But I think just the one change for Sunday as I opened with.

By the way, those calling for Dangles to be left out....you must be joking. Yes, he could be more polished. He seems to get the speed wobbles when running at full pace sometimes and it can effect his delivery, but he's playing an important role coming out of defence and he is improving all the time.

There is a press release from the AFL on the club website saying that reserved seats are selling fast and advise any members without a reserve seat to reserve one in case of a sellout.

Malthouse? He's a great coach but I'm telling you this team is primarily made up of vanilla players who know their role extraordinarily well. When the pressure is on the individual player and he is rushed you just watch. They aren't good enough.

If we turn up to play we will win this. I'm just not sure if we can 3 weeks in a row.....consistency has been an issue for us for many years now.

Exactly...you certainly highlight a weakness of theirs.
They must be hunted down and exterminated.

Very well drilled, but if you can get guys out of their specific role in the structure they struggle. Easier said than done, but it certainly can be done. We certainly have more elite talent than them, and much more upside across the board. But our worst is worse than theirs, even though our best may be better.

Big yes for Bower to replace Walker.
If that happens then I'd drop White for Waite.

I would select Waite to come back this week.
I'd start him in the forwardline to stretch their defence a bit.
If that works leave it with the 3 talls (Hendo, Setanta, Houla and 3 magicians; 1 on the bench).

If there is a need for a third tall in defense we would have the luxury of Waite to swing back there.
So, I'd drop White, not for any reason other than Waite has a lot more to offer as a swingman.
Whilst Waite is forward I'd use Lucas as the 3rd tall to provide the run out of defense Walker was doing in the past 2 weeks.

Cloke = Bower
Anthony = Jamison
Medhurst =Lucas
Davis = Armfield

Russell and Gibbs as the 2 HB's.
If Pendlebury plays HF then Gibbs.
If Pendlebury plays wing (as he usually does)...tag him with someone around 187-190cms (pref Russell but he has a job down back) and tag Swan with Joseph?
2 hard tags and that'll do the job I think.

It wont happen but I'd like to see Hadley in, but I guess it's good for McLean to get a taste of the rivalry.
Who knows he may lay some injuries on some of the softer midfelders.

Big sauce Jacobs must come in to replace Warnock. Warnock had 10 hitouts last week with 0% to advantage. At the moment he is a liability, and Jacobs deserves an opportunity.
Bower is an obvious inclusion and I believe Henderson needs to find form in the 2's.
My ins and outs:
Ins: Jacobs, Bower and Waite
Out: Warnock, Walker and Henderson.

I would stick with Warnock for the time being..
There is so much more potential left, we need him to string as many games as possible together. Jacobs is decent but giving Warnock games now will benefit us a bit later on. I think Jacobs will always just be ok but nothing more.

Jamo on Medhurst
Bower on Cloke
Joseph on Didak
Armfield on Davis
White on Mcafer
Russell on Dawes

I would also like to see Houlihan play on Shaw and Gibbs play on Thomas

Warnock is showing signs that his fitness is improving, and only legitimately let us down against Essendon* along with a lot of other players. I'm now thoroughly convinced that he won't make any strides playing at VFL level unless he really pushes himself.

Still just Bower for Walker from where I stand.

Bower on Cloke
White on Dawes
Jamison on Medhurst
Armfield on Davis
Russell on Didak/Thomas

One thing about 206 is he's 206. He's a massive unit and to at least halve the ruck contest puts us ahead in the battle for clearances.

I say keep him in unless we're sure Big Red can compete at least as well, and right now I'm not.

"We talk about cooking sausages, but you can do it a different way, can't you?"

I guess that's what we're cooking. Yeah Ratts, umm, sure you can.

Agree with him regarding Walker's influence in the last couple of weeks. Big loss. So...Bower def in, left the door for potential Waite return this week.

Only two players who are struggling for form. Warnock and Joseph.

I would like to see Jacobs given a go but if Warnock was going to be dropped it would have been in the last couple of weeks. Why this week?

If Joseph goes, why not Grigg? More run than Hadley, still good in close.

And Bower for Walker.

Waite for White? Maybe but don't think so. Don't mess with a winning team.

Joseph to go Teddy? Gee, you're a harsh marker. He had the hardest job in AFL and came out okay. He's played all of 30 games and kept Ablett's influence to a minimum. I love the boy.

What I would like to see:

In: Bower Waite Jacobs
Out: Walker (inj) Setanta Warnock

What will probably happen:

In: Bower
Out: Walker (inj)

Extended bench today as well!

He got a bath against Gazza. It was the other 21 blokes winning their positions that kept his influence to a minimum.

Sure, give him some leeway against the best in the business, but what was his score card from the previous four weeks?
