I cant believe that people are saying Waite shouldnt come into the side?? Why not ?
Are you guys forgetting his versatility and run?

I say

OUT: Walker ( inj ) Setanta ( omitted )
IN: Bower and Waite

Play Waite forward with the Bats ( Yarran, Betts and Gartlett ) and let them create havoc!!

Please please please beat Collingwood... if we lose ill be shattered BAD!!!!! BUT having said that, im not expecting to win. As mentioned above, consistency isnt there yet

So you'll be backing the Pies then?

Tough luck on doing your money yesterday. I got on the Blues between 25-42 and it paid $10.80

One change I reckon.

Bower if fit in for Walker.

I would love Waite in but he has not done anything yet to warrant selection. We need to stop selecting players on reputation alone.

He needs to do the hard yards like everyone else, and learn not to turn the ball over.

Leave everyone in as they deserve to be as they are the ones who did the hard yards to win the last two games.

Bower was in good form before injury so he should come back in IF fit.

Tru Blue Brad i didnt back the Cats yesterday as they were too short... i tipped against the Blues in my tipping comp though and am considering picking Collingwood as my certainty this week, happy to bomb out of the comp if the baggers roll them, but if they dont at least im alive

9 Kicks
8 Handballs
8 Tackles - Our leader.

He does his job and allows Judd and others to get free.
Add to that the 117 times he smacked into Ling to make sure he knew Judd or Murph had a wingman willing to hurt to allow his man to get free.

Bower for Walker is the only change we should make.

People who don't rate MacLean's efforts yesterday obviously don't watch what happens in the packs. A vital, vital player in our setup. He was excellent.
And you don't drop a 20 year old key position player who is working his butt off for the team. You leave him there to learn and gain confidence. It will come. Henderson shouldn't be anywhere near going to the Bullants.

The key for this week is that Malthouse and Buckley will dissect what is working for us and come up with tactics to shut us down. How we respond will be vital to the outcome. Don't expect Yarran, Betts, and Garlett to be given their own footy like Geelong did for them.

I reckon this side with the same commitment of the past two weeks will absolutely towel up Collingwood!!!!!!

B: Armfield, Jamison, White
HB: Russell, Bower, Gibbs
C: Scotland, McLean, Simpson
HF: Houlihan, Henderson, Garlett
F: Betts, Waite, Yarran
Foll: Kreuzer, Judd, Murphy
Int: Lucas, Joseph, Carrazzo, Warnock

I give us every chance to win this game. We match up very well with the Pies usually, and despite a few changes to both teams since 2008, for mine it will again be a similar story.

People calling for Armfield to be dropped need to get their heads read. He was brilliant yesterday, provided us with 2nd and 3rd efforts, as well as run and pace off half back. His disposal at times needs to improve, I'll agree with that, but he has earned his place.

It's a given that Bower will come back into the side as Walker is injured, but as for Waite, I'm a little puzzled as to who goes out for him. Henderson should stay in the team for mine, he may not be kicking big bags of goals but he is still developing and there is no better way for him than to play in our 22. Takes strong marks and can kick goals- not sure why he should go out. As for Setanta, I'd say he is more likely to go out based on his last couple of games.

Like Henderson, O'Hailpin work his butt off for the team in the air and at ground level. IMO he works well with Betts-Garlett-Yarran and is good defensive forward. He's learning fast amd will only get better with exsperience at AFL level.

Kudos to teagueubeauty and caulfield rover.
I just watched the replay and yeah, I did see McLean smacking into Ling a few times.

Maybe my expectations are a tad high, but he doesn't really impress me...yet.
That's not to say I'm right and you're wrong.
In fact I feel I am missing something he offers to the team that you are seeing...blatantly.
I know he's rugged, tough and physically uncompromising, but he lacks that bit of class I expect from mids.
Obviously what I expect isn't needed because we won with McLean doing what he did.

So that's in Waite and out Setanta?
If so, fair enough.
Good team.

I have enjoyed what Setanta brings to the table though, however a few more possessions from Setanta wouldn't go astray either.

This is NOT a call on White's future prospects, or his work rate or contribution to supporting the change in approach we've seen over the last couple of weeks...

...however if Waite is fit and confident, then he's an automatic selection over White. White has been very good, but his goals against column has been significantly assisted by inexplicably bad kicking from Pods and Burton in perfect conditions the last two weeks. White has definitely positioned himself as first call up if there's an injury.

Waite will have better nous around the contest than White and will provide more confident drive out of the backline. Which we will very much need to try and avoid having Collingwood shut our run down with their pressure and tackling. Waite is clearly our most dynamic KPP. If he's fit, there's no way known he's not an automatic inclusion in our best 22.

Bower for Walker the only other change.

IN: Waite, Bower
OUT: White, Walker

I hope Ratts spends this week pumping up Collingwood's tyres, just like he did with Geelong.

The last thing I want to see is huge articles on our '3 musketeers'... bloody Hird and Lyon waxing lyrical about us... it never seems to work in our favour.

So in that spirit, Collingwood is a genuine Premiership contender with winners on every line. We'll have to be at our very best to match it with them. Men against boys. They have multiple Anzac Day medallists on their list, and we don't have any. Lexus Centre is awesome, Mick and Bucks are working beautifully together, Neon Leon loves the big stage, and I just hope we can compete.

Bower and Waite for Walker and Henderson.

If I had a choice between Waite and Henderson I know who I would pick.

Thought Setanta was better than Henderson on Monday ... so I reckon Harry and the Hendersons will be dropped.

what influence did Mackie or Taylor have on the game?

Why was that?

I can see where Punter22 is coming from with regard to White, however he did come to notice with a strong performance on Jack Anthony in a VFL practice match in late February and I would be inclined to go with the same matchup again.

My concern is the good form of Didak and Shaw. Stop these two and you stop Collingwood. With Shaw, I would use Carrazzo as a defensive forward. Malthouse won't let this happen for too long and he will push Shaw up into the midfield. That's a win for Carlton, and in that scenario, it's up to McLean to make sure he doesn't get to the contest. Didak is a little trickier. He's damaging in that he can have 15 touches and hurt you with every single one. He needs a tag, and Joseph is the only guy we have capable of annoying him. I'd get AJ to watch the Ben McGlynn game on Didak in 2009 to see exactly how it's done.

What Carlton won't be able to stop is Maxwell running around without accountability in the backline. What they can control is where he delivers the ball. A lot of Collingwood's goals come from a Maxwell loose ball get and him quickly moving the ball through the corridor. If he lowers his eyes after 5 steps and doesn't see anything, the bloke reverts to Bret Thornton mode and chips it along the boundary. That's a win.

We looked quick with and without the ball on Monday arvo. The Pies are a lot quicker than Geelong which means when we spread from the contest - we'll have less time and against Collingwood, less chance to get it wrong re: disposal. They're quick on the rebound. They pretty much had a training run against Essendon* so much so that they took the foot off the pedal in the last quarter. They've one day's advantage on us. That said - I'm tipping a win. Just.

Waite will come in for White.

We will show up the Colliwobbles for the great pretenders they are.

We are the underdogs again ($2.40). The longer we are underestimated, the better!

Blues by 8 goals
