Our run out of the back half has won us the past 2 games.. its a real strength and Ratts expoited that beautifully today.
Fantastic coaching performance.. Onwards and upwards

Superb coaching job and I have been one to question Ratts. Without Thornton we have awareness and attacking movement. The ideas of Jamo, 1AW et al now are to move forward or quickly every time. I am OK with errors if made that way as the positives far outweigh the negatives. The run means we are able to kick it over the flood and involve the quick indigenous guys and maintain the coridoor.

White still worries me in marking contests where he does not/can not do body on body at this stage. jPod, if kicking straight, could have embarrassed us.

1AW has just found his spot and sheesh I hope his shoulder/collarbone is not serious. Lucas is a serious jet and a GREAT choice

Are we happy enough now down back to try Thornton rotating with Hendo up forward?
Could be just the ticket...especially with his defensive know how.
The backline is looking super...and Bower to return..yikes!

Just got back - first time this season Blues fans getting really vocal & really enjoying the experience....about time.

Garlett, Yarran and Lucas are stars...

I was expecting us to lose so this was naturally very satisfying & the beer at the pub with the boys was great.

Really sad about Walker.

Don't think this was the upset of the year as touted on radio just a team effort playing to its abilities and each player doing its job competently.

Thats all there is to it; not much to ask.

We were all chuffed to bits.

Just home from the game. Stayed a little longer than usual because we had to sing the club song at least 3 times and cheer the boys off the ground.
Super win. Agree with all of the above. Had it won at 3/4 time but still had to hold our nerve and kick a couple in the last when Geelong came at us, winning about 5 centre clearances in a row.

Judd BOG closely followed by Scotland, Gibbs, Armfield, Russell, Yarran, Walker, Garlett, Carazzo, Jamison, Murphy, Kreuzer, O'Hailpin, Simpson, Houlihan, McLean, Betts, Warnock, Lucas, Henderson, Joseph, White.

Hang on, thats the whole team!

Absolutely right

There was a moment today when I thought Thornton was actually out there. It was when White ran the ball out at a slow walk, bouncing the ball unnecessarily every three steps, allowing the entire Geelong team to get back, and then turned the ball over. Don't miss that.

Let's not jump off T-bird completely. As a rule he has good disposal and can use the ball well. He's been one of the few shining lights in defence during the club's darkest period in almost 150 years. He is not perfect, I agree, but at his best he is in our best 22.

Sorry Camel...he is a static footballer and a finger pointer to boot....best move Ratts has made since he became coach was dropping him...if he can re-invent himself in a different part of the ground then good luck...otherwise the Ants can capitalise on his silky skills...

There was nothing wrong with that play ... what he was hoping to do was draw a Geelong player and handball or kick over the top but the Geelong playeras were not buying it.

Amazing what happens when we get the balance right at team selection.

Finally a defence that can attack and create opportunities the way Geelong have been doing for the past 3-4 years.

Still have players such as Waite, Bower, Jacobs, Grigg, Robbo, Hampson, Hadley, Johnson in the wings that will keep pressure on that 22.

For me the true positive was watching the boys work the 'tempo' footy tactic to perfection at the end of the 2nd. I think it was scotto who was the first to hold the ball up in the air and was greeted with quite a few sighs and boos around me, but it worked perfectly, for almost 2 mins. We just held the play up and hit every target for the rest of the quarter, and more importantly didn't concede any scoring opportunities.

It was brilliant as i heard a geelong supporter behind me say, in these exact words "Yeh this is real premiership football, they are 30 points up and trying to save the game already", the siren went and i made a point of telling the fella that it actually was premiership footy. Great stuff

Those that boo the 'tempo' stuff are just uninformed. Today we did it well and went in 33pts up at half time. Funny how all those around me who had booed 2 mins earlier were high 5ing each other as the siren went. When the skills are good the ploy is good. When the skills are bad the ploy is still good but the execution just sucks. Simple really.

Regards Cazzesman

Not having a dig at White, just as a passage of play it reminded me of T-bird.

To turn the conversation to something more positive, JR for AA anybody?

Henderson OUT? No sorry for me. He and Setanta are never outmarked. They both provide a contest and are both VERY mobile. Walker needs replacing (Bower) and Waite needs inclusion (Joseph) in my mind

Brilliant.

Relentless pressure all day and just never gave up. Can't pick out a bad player.

Very bad news about Walker, too.

For those wondering a second gamer just ended Podsmania  Maybe that's why he's been passed over more than the Bolte
Tommahawk is more like Ladyhawke and less talented.
Bartel missed so many targets today, post game he spend ten minutes trying to open someone elses car with his keys.
ON THE WINNERS!!!!
Mclean did have two poor forward entries in the third but generally was excellent and worked the Cats mids hard.
White and Lucas again very good.
Juddy well thats the champ.
And Steak knives Army fantastic
and the 'Yazz, Jeff and Eddie' Show well it's more exciting than the big chin and more effective.
But Jordan Russell I am more and more amazed every week. Whoever convinced the kid he could play (and I guess Ratts should take some credit) well sir or madam I dips me lid!! He is even naming his bunny's mid-week now!!!
and welcome back Bryce Gibbs
A lovely day out
Get well soon Walks!
