Well whatever the case Waite MUST MUST MUST play! We will be way too small in defence if he doesn't. White is only playing his second game and won't be able to match it one-on-one with Geelong's forwards.

White will be put on Pods, and provided the midfield does its job, White will smash him.

It's the Walker/Hawkins match-up that has me a bit worried, but we can just as easily drop Setanta or Henderson into defence and swing Walker or another player forward. Walker will match him in the air, but if he's caught napping or the midfield do a botched job of slowing their midfield's ball movement, Hawkins will be able to out-reach him on the lead and out-body him in a contest.

This discussion could all be for naught if the MC up and decide Waite comes in as the single change for Robinson to play in defence. I wouldn't be against that, but I'd wonder why they named McLean and Hadley on the extended bench if the intention wasn't to bring one of them in.

Unless his form last week was that bad, or his training this week poor, I think Waite simply has to play. Geelong has too many match winners for us not to play him, his versatility and x-factor are too important.

Assuming McLean plays, Robbo out and...someone is going to be desperately unlucky.

BTW...kudos to whoever broke the Bower out for 4 weeks story on the eve of the Brisbane game. We do need him though.

not sure why all the angst is towards Robbo. he is a mad man, and every side needs a mad man. gives everything and gives our forward line that little bit of hardness.

not sure who to drop to be honest. and that is flower awesome to have that problem :-)

white, lucas, garlett all did more than enough to warrent their selection for this week.

if, and i say if, if anything i think Setanta, who has been okay, but not fantastic, would be a straight swap for Waite.

yarren - waite - garlett
betts - hendo - houla

has a nice ring to it :-) (with robbo coming on and off with the forward line rotations_

Waite to play as our FF (if he is fit and warrents selection) and we do need to bring in either McClean or Hadley, but who out of the midfielders do you take out?

Everyone keeps calling Jeff Gartlett, but how come nobody calls Matthew Scartlett?

Do the rest of the chikcens have an opinion on playing one ruckman at the expense of our forward set up?

The only doubt I have is White for Waite but was White's game last week really bad enough to drop him, and Waite's good enough to elevate him? Don't think so.

I reckon this is all on the money.

Setanta is our leading goal kicker, and there are only 10 players in the entire AFL who have kicked more goals than him this season.

I don't think he should be dropped.

Juddy is pure inspiration. Robbo trying to knock the opposition over might br fun to watch but I wouldn't call it inspirational. Plus he can't get his hands on the ball anyway. That's why he is the favourite to be dropped this week. Especially if another hard nut like McLean who can get his hands on the ball comes in.

he kicked 3 in the first, 4 in the second? and with a 2 & 1 the last few weeks.

as i said, he hasnt been horrible, i just think, that if it came to it, Waite would be able to do the same role, as Santy, but be better at it.

i love big irish, but this is about winning games of footy. if waites form deserves it (and apparently it doesnt) i would swap Santy for Waite. IMO. but i certainly wouldnt be distraught either, if Santy kept his spot.

The weather forecast for Monday is developing rain, if that eventuates I would have both McLean and Hadley in.

Setanta plays and drags Taylor to the flanks opening up the corridor for the freakshow. Id have Setanta about 40 out and I'd bunch the 3 of them around 15 meters out an tell them to lead in 3 directions. If Taylor tries to cut it off then play through Setanta to make Taylor accountable. Oh and win the midfield

Won't be both Hadley and McLean. Mclean if he comes up and Hadley if he doesn't. Not sure if Waite will be back to form after one okay game in the 2s. I thought our small forwards were great last week, nad surely no-one could contemplate dropping Lucas. He looks a gem, kudos to the recruiters- always go for next best talent over who is tall etc. Lucas was one of out best last week and looks completely comfortable at senior level. He has played two of the most assured first two games for Carlton for some time.

White should be able to play on Pods, who doesn't look overly quick. Walker on Mooney for mine. He will get beaten occasionally if body on body should avoid that and can use his athleticism to jump over Mooney, then make Mooney chase him. I have to begrudgingly admit that Milburn has been a god player for a long time. He is not fast. Need to spread their defence and run Milburn around. Kick it to whoever Lonergan picks up and don't put it on top of Taylor's opponents head, Taylor is great in the air. Geelong are just so even and such a well oiled machine, but our quick forwards are capable of putting lots of pressure on. I don't think AJ has been up to last years form and has a massive task against Ablett. If he can hold him to a reasonable game we are a chance. Who goes to Joel Corey, one of the best unsung players going around? Could we try Russell in a midfield run with role? Maybe that would rob the defence.

I like Robbo and think he has ben alright so far but consensus seems to be he might go out. I hope Setanta has a big one. Hard to know what his instructions have been, but would love him to lead and double back all day, make himself an option, hopefully he will be encouraged to do that. He also needs to show more awareness, still turns his back on play at times.

Good test for Warnock as I thought Blake's ruckwork was very good at times ag Adelaide.

I think I'll have to go into therapy to get over the loss to the third rate Bombers but if we win this at least I'll be part way to recovery.

You strategist....

Quietly confident for the abovementioned reason...oh and win in the midfield.

I thought Setanta was ok last week.

Might not have said it on the stats sheet or even on goals but he did the team things! That's what i love about him.

Fingers crossed he has a blinder this week.

On the outcome of the game? I think we have a better chance than most would make out (we're paying $4.60 for god sake) but if we lost by less than 2 or 3 goals i'd take that!

I just wanna see us give it a good hard crack with plenty of intensity!

GO BLUES!

Gotta keep Warnock in...but would still like to see Waite and McLean included. Robbo goes out. May have to be Lucas, though he would be stiff.
