And play Betts, Garlett and Yarran at the same time, for as much of the match as we can. Geelong will struggle to match them up and maintain their zones and we're not afraid to go to them.

Jamo to Mooney
White to Hawkins
Bower or Thornton to Pods (One has to play IMO)
Joseph to Garry
Murphy v Bartel
Judd v Ling
Gibbs v Selwood
Simmo V Corey
Russel on Johnson
Caratz on Chapman to nullify him by making him accountable.. no one will stop him as a tagger

We need our speed to come into it.. Simmo needs the game of his life and army needs to show his speed. Yarran Betts and Garlett id love to see play major minutes and potentially ohalpin down back if Bower doesnt get up. Then chuck Walker down forward for a hanger or 3 and see how he goes.

That's right, they are targets.
And we will score a bit through them too against the Cats.

Their mids will be compelled to come back to help out.
That's good. I'd rather their mids in our fwd line than in there's
But they will be a bit late to stop Black Magic.
Betts, Yarran & Garlett.
Those 3 are too fast and slick for anyone.
Houla, Setanta and Hendo might want to crumb off them.

Do u remember what happenned to Ling last time he played on Judd?

Judd took him on some long searching runs in 1st Qtr and Ling's face turned the same colour as his hair. Ling cant go with Juddy in an enduraNCE TEST

I'd love to see jacobs brought in for warnock - much better tap ruckman imo and would give us a big advantage in the midfield against geelongs rucks

Should we be worried about Blake :?: :sly:

I believe Warnock broke even with Ottens in a VFL game last year.

You don't change a winning team to the extent the supporters wish to.

The supporters who wanted Walker cut last week.

Maybe you can change your signature.

Just got a call from a mate close to the club.

In: Waite McLean Bower Hadley Johnson
Wasn't sure but thought outs were: Robinson and Armfield

Apparently Thornton has been spitting the dummy??
Be interesting to see if true as he normally doesn't comment on selection!

seems strange Armfield would be dropped, we dont have many that could keep up with Burns.

Despite what Ratts said there were signs of the old Waite in the 2nd qtr in the VFL, running and setting up play from HB.

but what does sound right is 5 in for 2 out......extended bench

Happy with the ins if true. Cannot wait to see McLean and Juddy in the same side.

Let's hope Brock continues his form from the first few rounds so that we can release Juddy on the outside. Monday can't come quick enough!

the psych ------ if true, some interesting outs. Couldn't possibly see us dropping either Betts, Garlett or Yarran.

White might be an innocent by stander. O'Hailpin? That covers Waite and Bower.

Perhaps Robbo/Armfield for McLean/Hadley....perhaps perceived speed loss off set with Juddy being released from so many hard balls.

mmmmmmmmm.......johnson?

Good move to play McLean and Hadley IMO. Geelong are strong but not overly quick.

Not surprised Thornton is spitting the dummy, if his off-field behaviour is anything like his on-field behaviour. Can't help but think his days are seriously numbered.

Surprised about Armfield, unless it's just a match up issue.

Remember its an extended bench and won't be finalised until tomorrow so if its right it could still only be the two changes.

Armfield "dropped", ridiculous. Maybe an injury issue.

Interesting also to note that Robert Walls commented on OWAAT, that "Thornton doesn't listen,
that is why he was dropped."
Supports the belief that disobeying game plan against Essendon* has cost him. That attitude has been clearly evident in his body language for years. He'd better wake up.

Tom Harley was interviewed on Sunday and commented that in early 2007 he returned from injury and was welcomed back by the playing group. On the monday he was called into match committee and told that another dour, defensive game like that would see him out of the side. He was told the team had moved passed that style of play and he needed to get with the program.
I sense a similar situation.
Ball is in Thornton's court.

Would be a shame to see Robbo out given his toughness and ability to tackle and provide pressure, and White looked OK for a first gamer, however Waite, Bower and McLean/Hadley would be great ins and they'd probably have to make way. I'd personally give the nod to Hads before McLean...

I would keep Armfield in for the Burns match up and his pace off half back. He and Russ could become very potent...

In: Waite Bower McLean/Hadley
Out (regrettably): Robbo, White, ????

Who would be the third out? Tough one...

And I'd give Thornton an extended break. Not a fan. Always gifts 2 goals a game... Groom White and Austin instead

I fear that 2004 - 2008 has mentally scarred Thornton. He spent 5 years playing with a siege mentality, must be hard to break out of that.

Was interested to find out that Thornton is only 26 (turns 27 in November). I thought he may have been a year or two older than that. Between ages 26-28 is when a player really should be hitting their peak however he seems to be going the other way.

Even though he will be 27 at year end I dont think that makes him 'too old' to attract interest from another club. Might be an interesting season for T-Bird. He has wanted out of the club on 2 occassions already during his career and if reports about his fledgling attitude around the club are true then he may once again seek a trade at the end of this year. Blues have been reluctant to part ways with him previously but now with the development of Jammo and Bower together with good prospects in Austin and White....I wonder if the writing could be on the wall for Bret!!

Given it's a Monday game will it be finalised on Saturday?
