He's a running machine who would step into any team in the AFL...imo.

Saints would drop Farren Ray if they could get their hands on Walker.

He's a running machine. I like him at HBF.

He's only playing there because:
1. The MC have finally realised Thornton is no good, I'm glad they have come around, we carry Thornton.
2. Bower is out, Austin is out and Waite is playing poorly and needs to play VFL to get his game up and going.

We wont get away with him playing CHB too often, good tall forwards will carve him up. We need him at half back but on a flank.

My ideal back half would be:

B: White Jamison Russell
HB: Walker Austin Bower

All love to run, all are good runners, Austin has looked like a genuine CHB. Bower and Jamison can play on smalls and talls and Walker and Russell can play above their Hight. Obviously we will have to move Joseph/Armfield back if there are midgets like Milne there.

you don't like him????

Bizarre - the kid's been basically out for two years and you don't like him. God no wonder footballers get paid a lot - who'd want this sort of crap at their work place. All - all even a Goddard, !@#$%& up the kick ins occasionally - especially when under pressure, real or imagined, as a young side we feel the pressure a lot more than a Geelong or St Kilda, so we !@#$%& up a few more, but we'll get there and when we do supporters might begin to see the positives a lot more than the negatives.

Agree...some people just don't fully comprehend what 1AW has been through....basically next to zero footy for two seasons...down on confidence...when this guy is back playing the footy he played at the weekend consistently....watch out!!!

How does he owe the club when he put his body on the line and as a result sustained two injuries that required shoulder reconstructions?

The kid is one of our best trainers, has a great attitude and has continued to work on his foot skills, which have improved on both sides.

only pretty good footballers get a third chance after several recos, so i think he owes the club pretty good football, that is all. Like an investment that is about to pay some dividends

I would like to see Okeefe get 2-3 games before the season ends.

Got a feeling AJ /Army/Walker will be in a spot of bother.

watched the replay - 1 botched kick in as much the receiving player's fault as Tex's - and about 6 lace out passes.

The very, very pleasing thing about his kicking was the way he was weighting the ball gently to the team-mate. It looks as if he may have finally given away the supersonic bullet pass that he use to spray from time to time. He looked to be calm with his kicking and as a result he executed extremely well.

Regards Cazzesman

I thought his kicking really imrpoved after the 1stQ.

In fact, other than that [REDACTED] kick in and another which didn't make the distance, but travelled to the intended target, I thought his kicking was elite.

1 botched kick in, for @#$%&!'s sake we are picky around here - Tex's kicking in that first quarter was outstanding. It remained so for the whole game.

Allright DB...don't get too picky around here.

I said his kicking seemed to me to be elite other than a couple CLANGERS in the first.
Those 2 kicks in the first were defined as 'clangers' and not even the great DB can deny that.
They were clangers in my book whether the statisticians agree or not...but they did agree though.

1AW was great on sat.

But...

There is still room for T-bird in the forward line at least.

Isn't it grand to have options

 but show me a player with no clangers. Do we highlight Judd's? Murph's. Some handballs were terrible also - 1 of Kruiser's comes to mind so may be he can't handball.

Its just that i think Tex cops it because he has at times over kicked the ball - fine, but his mistakes on the weekend where not repeats of that, in fact, as Caz pointed out, he weighted the ball beautifully - even his two so called clangers were because he was trying to weight the ball not because he went for the bullet - it shows he is learning/understanding - so i wish we would praise that not point out when it didn't work.

I've spoken about this elsewhere.....people become sensitized to issues or develop their pet theories....which may be reasonable given the available evidence at the time ....the problem is it is too easy to look for confirming evidence and ignore dis-confirming evidence because we want our pet theories to continue to be right.

Judd or Gibbs commit a clanger and you brush it off, JR or 1AW do and the sky is falling....looking across the totality of the game, their effectiveness is presently as good as anybody's

Improved confidence has the effect of not trying to force the issue. Thus what we see is a different footballer.
