Agreed Lucas must play. Apart from a couple of kicks out of bounds (which kids will do from time to time) he didnt do much wrong. He needs to be giving more time.

IMO Walker, Houlihan, Armfield and Joseph may benefit from a stint at the Bullants. Judd and Bower in (if fit). And I'd like to see Garlett and possibly even Wiggins given another chance...

Nothing like wading into someone else's conversation.

Clearly one leads to the other. Could we have uncovered a blind spot in Ratt's coaching skill set by going to the trouble of seeing what was out there? We took a very deliberate approach to hiring other senior management positions within the club. We totally disregarded that approach with this position.

Clearly, he's not bereft of coaching ability. However, getting a 'good/ok/developing' candidate isn't the way we went about other hires. So why shouldn't he be questioned vigorously? IMHO we should be making a godfather offer to Roos and have done with it.

Anyway, back to Adelaide beating us again. We haven;t talked about that since Rd 22, unlike Ratts.

With Tippet and Dangerfield seemingly set to miss, the Crows are the walking wounded at the moment. I watched their whole game vs Melbourne yesterday, and they look no where near the same team to the one that thumped us in Round 22 last year.
With Judd, and hopefully Bower to come into our side, no matter the fact we're playing them at AAMI, if we can not beat them with the amount of injuries and underdone players they've got at the moment, then SERIOUS questions need to be asked about Ratten and this current playing group.

Yes Carlton should win. Just like they should have won against a C Grade team fielded by Essendon* last week. We know how that turned out.

Adelaide still has Craig and a team, albeit depleted which has discipline and structure. Carltons' team is yet to show any real semblance of either of those things to this point (even with the guaranteed "bye" win we had over the Tigers taken into account).

I hope like hell Ratten and the players prove that statement wrong and come out firing this week....

Who is going to the game ?

I'll be there in a "official" capacity. Auskick Manager for Glenelg Footy Club, so I'll be on the Oval at half time (Northern end i.e where the Carlton people are). Keep an eye out for a fat bastard wearing Auskick gear.

And in the good news, we are doing the guard of honour for Carlton !!

Those kids better not get in between Juddy and I

And yeah, Carlton can't beat Adelaide. So unfortunately a slim loss predicted.....

Kurt Tippett and Patrick Dangerfield remain hopeful of lining up against Carlton at AAMI Stadium on Saturday.

Tippett, who rolled an ankle late in Sunday’s game against Melbourne, is improving rapidly and may be able to train later in the week.

Dangerfield, who has a soft tissue sprain and was cleared of serious neck damage, will return to the club on Wednesday to be further assessed.

For as much as I love kouta, I don't think he'd be a good coach. Maybe a part time assistant at best. But kouta wasn't the best leader and I believe that whilst he is gifted, he can't teach!

I miss him though.

Spoke to Shaun Hampson at the Bullants game on Saturday and he told me that he would be out for 2 months because he "has a few niggles" and "can't get his body right at the moment".

Big loss for us !!

silver lining is i guess atleast warnock should get plenty of time in the ones - which has to be good for his development.

one does not lead to the other - one doing the interviewing hopes that one leads to the other. Just as a [REDACTED] up process does not mean a [REDACTED] up choice. It may come to that, it may not. But I wish people would get over the process and concentrate on the coaching. as to wading in - PM if you want a private conversation, they tend to be difficult on a forum like this :garthp:

Like to see:

In: Jacobs, Garlett, Judd, Hadley,
Out: Warnock, Houlihan, McLean, Robinson

B. Russell, Jamison, Thornton
HB. Yarran, Walker, Armfield
C. Gibbs, Murphy, Waite
HF. Scotland, O’hAilpin, Garlett
F. Betts, Henderson, Simpson
Foll. Kreuzer, Hadley, Judd
Inter. Jacobs, Carrazzo, Lucas, Joseph

1. Yarran and Gibbs running off HB playing a very attacking creative role as they are probably the 2 best kicks in the side. Lots of run out of defence with Russell and Army as well.
2. Scotland as a defensive fwd. Knows where the goals are, could shut down a McLeod and his kicking will not cause the same problems
3. Garlett and Betts to rotate and push into midfield at times.
4. Jamo on Porplyzia, Walker on Walker and Thornton on Tippett.
5. Jacobs to take on Maric at ruck duels. Kruezer to stand him and make him accountable when he drops back deep into defence.
6. Carrazzo and AJ as part of midfield rotation.
7. Waite to play loose, roaming fwd or back when needed. Needs time before filling key position especially as timing in jumping for marks was way off last week.
8. Hadley in middle. Adds grunt and more creative by foot than McLean. Can easily go fwd if needed. Very good goal kicker if given the chance.

What I think will happen:

In: Judd, Wiggins
Out: McLean, Robinson

B. Joseph, Jamison, Thornton
HB. Scotland, Waite, Armfield
C. Gibbs, Murphy, Simpson
HF. Wiggins, O’hAilpin, Yarran
F. Betts, Henderson, Carrazzo
Foll. Kreuzer, McLean, Judd
Inter. Warnock, Lucas, Walker, Houlihan

Just heard Patrick Dangerfield on the radio, he is a good chance of playing. Tippett didnt train and remains doubtful.

Psych, I think your first call is closer to the money. There will be at least 3 changes.
