Pros
- Simpson was good
- Armfield had a crack
- Eddie, quiet but has talent
- Yarran, as above
- Lucas, serviceable debut

Cons
- We shouldn't have lost to the team Essendon* put on the park

Serious questions need to be asked as to why we did.

I take my hat off to you Camel. Good to see a prominent moderator not wheel out the propaganda.

1. tonight marks the beginning of the end....for B Ratten - smart people make mistakes, stupid people make the same mistake twice...but only B Ratten makes the same mistake over and over again !

(Sidenote - The truly amusing thing is that the closest ratts has come to beating Essendon* as coach was in his first game against them when we were actually trying to lose !!!!!!)

Pros:

- Thank God C Judd back next week. Juddy, FFS, make a statement next week, you owe the CFC
- Armfield
- Simmo

Cons:

- McLean playing unfit?
- A gun like Kreuzer looking virtually clueless out there
- Robbo, nah
- Tex, find him a fixed possie or maybe a red jumper for a while
- The lack of running and intensity
- Skills were comical, a circus
- Gibbs not showing the way under fire, hardly noticed him
- Warnock should not be out there if we have Hammer or Jacobs as back ups. Needs more Ants footy by the looks of it.

Exactly...Ratts is a top bloke but not a coach..

If Ratts cant get them to play with heart over the next few weeks i will agree with you JAK. But tonight he could have had the best game plan in the world and we would have still lost as the players just didnt want it. If the players are not going to tackle hard , run hard and apply relentless pressure then Ratts' doesnt stand a chance. The team we put out tonight should have won playing with richmonds gamestyle. They just didnt care tonight.

Pro:- Lucas

Con:- Lazy players

Pros:
Ratten future was sealed tonight. Played the same game plan the entire game despite it failing.
Simmo was good
Armfield tried hard
We won the clearences again - 3 weeks in a row
Waite being revealed as an over-rated player.
Season is over - At least I can enjoy golf on a saturday

Cons
Cant Kick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Players trying low percentage plays over and over again.
Walker is the worst player on a senior list currently. He has gone backwards so quickly its sad - misses targets by 20metres - GONE!!!
Players dont run hard enough
Im too angry to keep writing...........

Pros

- Its only a home and away game. Not a preliminary final.
- Kane Lucas is going to be a player.

Cons

- I was going to give Ratts the benefit of the doubt until the end of the season but after losing to the weakest Essendon* side in memory?
- Ratts can't be sacked, who is there to replace him?
- Why wasn't Laidely picked up in the off season as a match day tactician?
- Game plan, what game plan?
- F@$#g Kick ins.
- Playing no hopers like Reimers into form.

C'mon club, it's the coaching departments job and responsibility to prepare the team mentally and tactically for each game.
Clearly we were nowhere near prepared enough.

You can't keep deflecting responsibilty from the coaching staff forever.

Pros
Simmo only
Lucas moves well but disposal was poor
Rusty was ok
Yazz will obviously be a gem.

Cons

the CFC thinking they are top 8 material-the list is 3-4 yrs away from serious contention if all stars align
All footy depts from recruiting to coaching think they are better than they are.
Apologies to Cordy and his assistants, as you may actually be the as good as the best.
Too many players in the team with poor skills, we may need their pace but they will never take us all the way.
Why were we playing to a Henderson(who kicks very poorly) v Fletcher match up ?
BTW Parko was right, Gumby >>>>>>Hendo
Ratten badly outcoched again.....yes we know Brokoli had a sore back, but am sick of excuses, there always seemed to be many matchups that looked poor for us.
WALKER, WALKER, WALKER....better on TV as a texas ranger than a footballer.

To lose a quality game happens, but to lose these low quality games suxxxxxx like a dirty katoi.

To all the glass half supporters, you are the same as the glass half empty dudes...correct because we are an 8-11th team...to those that think no 17 is inevitable and just around the corner, have another drink and half a doz bongs.

Who do you dream of coaching Carlton?

You may laugh, he's supposed to be retiring, and people will hate me for it, but..................Roos. Surely he isn't giving it away at his age. And surely we can offer him plenty of Green ?

He's not interested in $...he has plenty.

Roos is moving to USA......or he would stay where he is.

PROS
simmo worked his backside off all night - showed great leadership as one of the more senior players
dennis armfield - has a good crack and great pace but just has to work on his disposal via foot
lucas - laid a few good tackles and looked ok although also has to work on disposals
hit targets so often, if you can call the boundary line on the full a target.

CONS
warnock's disposal
kreuzer looked lost
lovett-murray getting the ball out of the centre
disposals
letting Essendon* run through the corridor time and time again
havent beaten them in so long
marking
coaching style, 3 years in a row havent beaten them in so long...

McLean – he might be OK, might not. But was he worth a first round draft pick. Really?

McLean sustained a lower back injury - I don't know if it happened early in the 1st qtr or if he carried it into the match. Regardless we badly missed his grunt tonight.

Pros
- Simpson, Betts and Russell played well
- Yarran showed his class at times and his defensive pressure was good
- Armfield had a crack
- Lucas looks a player despite making a few errors
- Carlton supporters now might stop overrating Waite
- Probably unlikely that Murph, Kreuzer and Gibbs will all have downers at the same time again soon

Cons
- O'Hailpin.....yes he has kicked 9 goals so far this year but he makes too many fundamental errors. Good VFL player.
- Warnock can't take an overhead mark even when under minimal pressure. Hampson please.
- Gibbs needs to get more involved

Pros: The bumbers are such an ugly bunch of wankers the make you just want to bury them into the turf e.g. Reimers

Cons: we barely touched them tonight!! I cant remember a decent tackle or even physical pressure on the ball carrier

Cons

206, wow he is getting worse each week, when I thought he'd get better. Let's play Sauce....at least he'd jump into the opposition rucks, make them earn it and tire them out a bit.

Gibbs. Talented but has severe shortcomings in the physical side of things. Has he signed yet ?

Walks. Just don't even know if he is any good any more. His kicking is beyond hope, and in today's footy it just kills ya.

Love Santy for his attitude etc, but he is very VFL (or even VFA) too often.

Pro

Judd is back next week.

We are in BIG, BIG trouble. No more glass half full for me. They lost me tonight and I dare say I won't be alone in that feeling.

Mars want their money back.

PRO:
Simpson
Henderson
Robinson

CON:
Ratten's 3/4 time lack of interest/passion
Warnock (Jacobs must be thinking what has he done wrong as he has shown way more at Carlton than 206)
Kruze - had a bad one
Game plan - what was it?
Ratton's press conf - kept talking about Ess playing one on one.....as if it was a new strategy no one had ever seen before. Plus more crap rehashing of stats. The guy is far from convincing when he speaks. I can only think it confuses the players as well
Tex - poorly coached but had a bad game
Houlihan - poorly coached but also a bad one
Carlos - struggled out there and when the opposition has the ball he really has no idea what to do (but not alone there)
McLean - 3AW reported he came into the game with a back complaint - are we really that stupid to be playing guys not 100%!!!!! :screwy:
Fwds - why do we have Yarran and Betts going for marks against Henderson and Carlos - whose bright idea is that????? Lappin?? Ratten??

Pros
Yarran
Eddie
Hendo (struggled against Mr Gadget but never stopped presenting)

Cons
Insipid, panicked performance by the majority of senior players.

Go your hardest TC.
