Carbon copy. CARBON FRICKEN COPY of every time we’ve played them.

The players should hang their heads in shame. The lazy running and errors were a disgrace.

And Brett Ratten should most certainly hang his head in shame. No emphasis on stopping their run through the corridor. No effort to correct the structural mistakes of games past. A disgrace!

PROS

1. Kade Simpson – should’ve captained all three games. The only player to win his position tonight.

2. Gee, I’m struggling. Eddie? Did pretty well.

3. Nice to see Kane lucas get a bit of it.

4. Russel was ok I guess.

5. Kill me

CONS

1. Brett Ratten has no answer to stop Essendon*’s run through the middle. It shouldn’t be that hard, they switch to the corridor with strict regularity, but we watch on. Embarrasing for Ratten.

2. When under pressure we hug the boundary. It lacks courage, is meek, and does nothing to help us. How the coaches have not taught our players to take more risks through the middle is beyond me.

3. Our skills are atrocious. We have too many poor kicks to build a successful side. Some of these guys just have no future.

4. Some players –
Walker is lost – the matchup on gumbleton was terrible but he’s not really putting his hand up to play anywhere else. Has his kicking gotten worse?
Warnock – CAN’T CATCH to save himself. Liability
McLean – he might be OK, might not. But was he worth a first round draft pick. Really?
Thornton – worse than last week. Had concrete in his boots.
Setanta – still frequently has no idea what to do and makes unforgivable errors.

5. Fumbling! Our midfield backed up after last week’s sterling effort with a punity and pathetic performance. They had butterfingers. Why wasn’t Murphy’s tagger put under any pressure? Weak!

Just a weak, embarrassing, pathetic performance.
Players were shit.
Ratten was shit.

Waste of bloody time

extremely disappointing....but awfully predictable !

pros

1. tonight marks the beginning of the end....for B Ratten - smart people make mistakes, stupid people make the same mistake twice...but only B Ratten makes the same mistake over and over again !

(Sidenote - The truly amusing thing is that the closest ratts has come to beating Essendon* as coach was in his first game against them when we were actually trying to lose !!!!!!)

Pros:

I'm trying... hang on... Nope. I got nothing.
Oh yeah, I got one: Hoffs are housebound with Baby Hoff, so we didn't have to travel to watch that scintillating display of ineptitude and apathy.

Cons:

Pretty much everything in navy blue. Disgrace.

Pros
- Simpson was good
- Armfield had a crack
- Eddie, quiet but has talent
- Yarran, as above
- Lucas, serviceable debut

Cons
- We shouldn't have lost to the team Essendon* put on the park

Serious questions need to be asked as to why we did.

Pros
One week closer to Rattens axing

Cons
To have a supposedly superior team look so inept and impotent...against the Bombers!

Exactly...Ratts is a top bloke but not a coach..

Who do you dream of coaching Carlton?

PROS

Simmo was good
Yarran showed flashes, real skill when he gets it
Lucas made mistakes but looked a player

CONS

disposal - too many players with below average skills
no-one stood up, lacklustre effort
Gibbs - getting a bit concerned that he is soft
Walker - how far backwards has he gone
Structure - nothing, no running, no idea, no plan?

Really disappointing game as no-one seemed to have intensity (apart from Simmo)

Lucas

Cons.
Coaching Panel is substandard. Either you surround Ratten with better assistants or you find an A grade coach
Kicking efficiency is the key to the modern game. The current group is not capable of becoming a topside because it lacks a pool of players who can execute effective disposal (Walker, Robinson, Carazzo plus others). Some players have to go. It is not that they are not AFL standard, it just that our team lacks balance.
Backline is brittle
Key Forwards non existent
-Caz, maybe you were a little too optimistic

Pros:

I am struggling here ...

Oh, serviceable debut from Lucas

Cons:

Lack of intensity from the outset. We had the opportunity to intimidate them early with some hard physical presence but didn't.

Our list management is woeful. We have assembled a list with lack of run, shocking foot skills, sloppy first contact with the ball and lack of footy smarts ... are we going to blame Ratten for that too.

On the Ratten side ... not enough moves to generate something different ... he knew what the bombers were going to serve and failed to prepare.

A fair call - would add Yarran, Simmo to the Pro.

Yes Gibbsy is getting a rep as soft at the contest.

pros:
good debut from lucas
my wife liked the thermos i bought for her

cons:
it was like we were completely surprised at their unpredictable tactics
after focusing on not hyping the game, we came out and played exactly in that fashion - as if we were playing a scratch match in the local park
wouldn't have mattered if Judd had played. when we play this mob we just freak out.
