Hardly. He's just impressed by how well we've done with the #1. I see it as much as swipe on Melbourne taking Watts as anything else.

Predicting Waitey to play a blinder as:

* don't see a matchup good enough to stop him for height, atheleticism and experience
* he's been playing himself into form and gaining confidence in that knee
* he's one of several targets up forward which means they can't afford to double team him (maybe after his 5th)
* believe he's been threatening to cut loose and tonight, he'll rip the bombers a new one.

Waitey with a bag of 5.

+1

Team hoodoos are flowering hard to shake off, don't underestimate it.

Crows really have been shite to date this year, but what is the ONLY team thay have beaten pre-season or main draw?? CFC, the old bunnies! That day they had plenty missing and the game was at OO. They carry huge self-belief into every game they play against us, ditto these p%&!cks.

We should win well tonight, no excuses, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Waite will play as a defender tonight IMO..
We really missed Bowers run and read of the play last week and they will want Waite to take over that role. With Ohailpin and Henderson showing good signs last week, they will back them in as our talls up forward.

Lyon acknowledging our elite talent and Connolly acknowledging that we're closer to a flag than Essendon* are both quite clearly correct and we'll damn well prove it tonight!

Can't watch the game in Sydney.

Both Fox AND Ch10/One are broadcasting the bloody Swans v Tigers game.

Broadcasting FAIL. :screwy:

Just checked the weather - there is little liklihood of rain stopping the forwards ability to mark the ball.

Rucks CFC has an advantage in 2 good players - need to move the ball clearly to the advantage of the open CFC player
Mid field is a clear CFC advantage - make them chase us for a change
Defence for CFC is superior to attack for tonight's opposition. However, they have to play tight and deny them any easy shots on goal.
Our attack is a work in progress - we get the ball inside the forward 50 enough - just need to convert more often

Plan A = We just need to get the player with the ball clear from the mid field and deliver it in front of the leading player so they can run into it.
Plan B = Kick it behind the matched player so he can run towards the goal and kick the ball forward. This is where Betts and Yarran need to start kicking goals (unlike last week).

This will be a good night to tackle and harrass the opposition play makers when they have or are about to get their hands on the ball.

A 9 day break should be to our advantage. The fitness of the playing group should be close to optimal by Round 3.

No excuses.
