Even though I dont agree with the Doc, he raises same valid points and should be free to express them. As far as I am concerned his comments are relevant to the topic. Unfortunately in TC we have too many TC posters here who take it upon it themselves to play the role of chief censor. All this does is stifle robust discussion and make TC a very bland forum.

99Prelim sums it up best with his well argued response.

Such tragic news. I've met Jim a few times. A wonderful bloke.
And Carlton thru and thru.
My heart goes out to Jim and his family. So sad.

(For those of u who see fit to turn this condolence thread
into a political debate about what should and shouldn't
be on the Carlton website, please take your discussion
elsewhere. Some of the posts on this thread I find
particularly disgusting).

Fair dinkum, some of you need to get a grip. It may not have been the right avenue to do it, but Doc is allowed to have an opinion on the matter and to be honest, I reckon he's spot on. But calling for him to be banned etc etc is just crap.

Condolences to the Wilson family.

Not this time.

Peter Daicos has had nothing to do with the Carlton family. :?

Piss weak argument and defence of a rather tasteless post aimed to push an agenda.

It's interesting to read the responses of the likes of those in my avatar who want to swat fly with a howitzer.

Do you have kids of your own Doc or PJ?

Indeed I do. But that isn't relevant. I can understand how people could think I hijacked what was intended to be a 'condolence' thread. I possibly should have started a new thread to voice my opinion on what level of consistent content is placed on the website, and severely underestimated the amount of idiots currently posting on this forum. I wouldn't take offence at all if the mods decided to clean up the thread and left posts only of a condolence nature (Not that they'll get read by the intended recipient, so i'm pretty much against condolence threads on here as well...)

There's no need for the topic to be split or comments removed, but let's leave the discussion about our comms department to a different thread.

Any comments picking up from that part of the discussion from here on will be removed.

I'll never forget meeting Jim in 95.

True Carlton man and great guy.
Amazing how the 2 words Carlton and Great are seen in the same sentence so ften.

So sad when a child is lost...and to this horrible disease, doesn't make it less or more painful.

Condolences to the Wilson family.
