If there is one thing I have learned over the years, it is to always beware the underdog in our games with the Bombers. No matter if it is us or them...strange things happen in our games that defy logic at times :screwy:

That said if the game was played on paper we should win easily

With their named side and it probably being a bit damp they will try to bring it to ground and run as off our legs. A tactic we haven't been able to cope with under Ratten as yet. As has been mentioned they are missing a few players who normally dine out on us, but we are missing a few as well. I expect them to try and make up for some scoring punch by kicking over the top and allowing their forwards to run on to it. Hopefully it doesn't work.

To me it is all down to how we turn up mentally. If we are switched on we win, but if we do a Collingwood and turn up just expecting it to be easy we will get rolled. We also need to kill it as a contest early IMO. If it is close late in the game the mental demons of those past five losses will start to kick in.

Still should win despite my apprehensive musing

Interesting that we have pretty much half a team different to both games from last season.

jimmae you are a worry wart. Blues are the best things since playing Geelong in the '94 finals.

Haha no nothing like that. Had it in the noggin' that buzz's lock was a kiss of death, but just did a quick search and discovered I'd had it backwards.

Lloyd, Lovett, Lucas, Davey, Monfries, Skipworth missing tommorow. Those 6 contributed 18 of the 21 goals they kicked against us last time.
I like our chances

To win we need to be pro-active and not re-active and this starts with Ratts...a pro-active mindset against these knobs is a winning mindset...even Pagan got this one right on occasion with limited perssonel....it really is time Ratts gets it as well.

Well said. Ratts himself has admitted we've been reactive in the past, and even using TC as an example, all the talk is of "we need to stop their run...who do we put on this guy" etc. If these thoughts have popped into the MC's head we're a long way towards getting done again.

Let them worry about us for a @#$%&! change!

Expect them to line up like this:

B. Houlihan, Thornton, Jamison
HB. Russell, Walker, Armfield
C. Scotland, Murphy, Simpson
HF. Yarran, Henderson, Carrazzo
F. Betts, Waite, O’hAilpin
Foll. Kreuzer, McLean, Gibbs
Inter. Joseph Lucas Warnock Robinson

Like the balance of the side. Two key defenders and runners around them is much better. Be interesting to see what happens when Bower returns next week.

Wouldnt be surprised to see Walker play a defensive HF role on Lovett Murray or I would put him on Gumbleton and let Thornton play the third man up role. Jamo on Williams as he suits that leading type player.

We look better with Waite up forward with Hendo and Setanta as a third tall more mobile option.

Houlihan needs to play deep forward or deep back. Starts games very well but doesnt have the engine and fades badly. AJ added to midfield rotations.

Personally I would like to see Robbo play HB where he played last year for Bullants. Was fantastic the way he ran straight and created play and really put his body on the line in front of the key forwards. IMO it will help him settle down and be more creative and will suit his kamikaze style.

Lots of run in this side which is good. Blues by 36 points.

Congrats and good luck to Lucas!!!!

Proactive not reactive? Sounds like the empty rubbish a politician would say when they're lacking ideas. If you want to push this agenda at least come up with something of substance.

Wait, let me get this straight...

You have doubts about Ratts as a coach?

Why have you said something before?

I was never so sure that we would beat the cauliflower than the last time we played them. I'm even more certain this time round. That's confusing in perspective.

Blues by 56pts.

I won't be as sure as some of you until the siren has ogne on Saturday night.

After hearing Essendon*'s draw on the way home tonight on 3AW for the next month, we are the only possible win for them.

This is so totally their grand final. And I am not at all comfortable with the Razor ofiiciating this game, which historically has meant an extra man for the Bombers.

They will be beyond desperate, I expect them to go the fist and I wouldn't be surprised if one of our guys gets "accidently" cleaned up early in the game.

Hope the boys are up to it.

seriously, if we cant win this, we are rubbish.

its all about the midfields, and we simply are that far better than them in the midfield, we will be dominate.

i expect a similair dominance from out mifield like last week, the difference this week, bombers have nothing close to what J.Brown is (and he was the only difference we lost last week, including our 3.10 to 8.3 start to the game)

having said that, bombers are under massive pressure, which makes their changes even more staggering.

if they dont win this, they will seriously be looking at a 0-8 start to the season, and the wolfs will be howling for the mug's blood.

blues by at least 6 goals.
