Someone should start a thread on Gibb's contract. It'd probably get hundreds of replies.

I would have thought GC worked on our favour. If we cant negotiate a suitable trade, Bryce would have virtually zero chance of getting to Adelaide in the PSD with GC having access to uncontracted playeo t as if we're bereft of midfield talent.rs.
I hope he'll stay but if he wants to go, as long as we get quality for him, que sera sera.

My sentiments exactly. I mean, Gibbs is a gun and I really really hope he stays, but if he choses to leave, then good luck to him. As long as we get acceptable compensation from GC for him, then meh... Its not as if we're bereft on midfield talent.

I wonder what would suffice if he were to leave?

Crows - Dangerfield?

Port - Boak?

GC - 2 1st round picks?

The most you're going to get from GC is one 1st Rounder the following year.

Boak would be fairly decent compensation. Had an awesome game on the weekend.

Dangerfield's not bad but we could use Brownlow and B&F votes as leverage as well as their serious need of Midfield general like Gibbs to get more from the Crows. Add one of their young forwards.

Nothing's better than watching a player grow from within, so would always prefer to keep the young superstar.

Swanny is going to be on SEN this morning between 10-11 if anyone is game enough to ring up and ask about Gibbs' contract.

"Kay", a caller smsed to find out about Gibbs' situation.

Swanny said "still talking", but everything will be "fine".

Seems pretty relaxed about it. I wouldn't worry about it from Swanny's tone of voice. He's confident that Gibbs will be playing for Carlton next year.

Grigg serving suspension as VFL doesn't start until this week. A quirk of the AFL.

Well Gibbsy is gonna love next week !

As well as playing in Adelaide, his junior club Plympton, is doing the Auskick, and the Auskick area for Plympton is under the umbrella of the Glenelg Footy Club !!

All 3 clubs that Bryce has played for will be there !!

And I'll be coordinating the Auskick on behalf of the Bays too, and as Plympton are the home team, we'll be lining up the guard of honour for CARLTON !!

Man I'm gonna smack Gibbsy & Juddy on the arse as they run through

That's good enough for me.

As someone else posted, just probably negotiating the yearly breakdown of his payments while keeping in mind the big fish we'll try to entice to the club next year.

That is the sort of thing we wanted to hear from the club

I found the part about Grigg interesting. He said that because Grigg would serve his suspension on Saturday afternoon the club had asked if that meant that he is free to play Saturday night. He cant but you have to wonder if they were so keen to have Grigg emergency that the rumour about Scotland may be true.
By the way that was my sms KB read out.

My information is that similiar to the Murphy deal, Carlton are liasing with the AFL first before it becomes official. Looking at a 3 year deal.

No need to stress people, he will be at Blues.

$100k a year salary.

$100k usage-fee per annum for www.gibbsy.com.au (outside of salary cap)

$200k usage-fee per annum for www.gibbinator.com.au (outside of salary cap)

$150k usage-fee per annum for www.superbryce.com.au (outside of salary cap)

Given this form of payment has already been approved by a former Chairman of the AFL, I can't see what the holdup could be.
