Does anyone know if Scotland is playing? Has anyone been down to training and seen if he trained? Would be a huge loss. I reckon he would be leading the B & F right now.

Really surprised with their outs. Prismall is very, very good and has been harshly dealt with if not injured. He creates from very little and is becoming a danger player for them already. Happy with Monfries.

A cynic might suggest the Bombers know they cant win at the moment and they'll say their picking for discipline.

One diver retired, one injured and another one dropped. The umpires will be confused.

So lets review the main goal kickers for the Bombers in previous encounters: Lloyd, Lucas, Lovett, Davey, Monfries and then some key players in McPhee and McVeigh, who of this list is playing Saturday night?

If we lose this, we don't deserve finals. Yes we don't have Fev, but Fev was 1 player not a whole forward line.

Great to see Lucas getting a game, Joey had a shocker in the first half last week but i thought he might survive as his second half was far better.

Our back six is well balanced now also, Waite slots into Bower's spot and hopefully takes Gumbleton on, if he does I doubt Gumby can keep up with Waite if he rebounds as we know he can from half back.

I'd play AJ on Stanton now Davey is out. Stanton can't kick, but still gives them plenty of drive and has slaughtered us recently with his run.

I'll buy dinner for whoever can knock Reimers out.

They've actually removed a lot of players I despise the most.

I'll have to focus on Stanton now...

Rapt to see Lucas getting a game. Joey might deserve a game in a few rounds. Bower still out....

this puts Essendon* in an under dog position. Beware...

I am so happy Monfries is out. He has been their best player so far this season and we know he always destroys us.

There are reasons why Prismall and Davey were dropped. Prismall is a one trick pony, he is a decent link up player but the boy has no defensive side to his game. Davey, well, after he gets tackled once he is scared to go in again.

They bring in Lovett Murray who is nothing more than decent and lonergan who in my opinion has a much better future than Prismall. They have gone with grunt over skill.

They will have to hope that Williams gets going and one of Gumbleton (I feel sick in the gut when Ess supporters call him Gumby), Hille or Ryder kick a bag.

The only thing Ess have got going well this season is their defense. Hooker and Pears are decent and Fletcher is always good. We need to keep Peaches/Lychees/Pears away from the play.

ps: AJ on Winderlich

Forgot to add... that sound you heard was excuses disappearing.

There are absolutely none with that Essendon* team.

Reading between the lines on Bomberblitz I think there was a general feeling that Prismall has been too soft (particularly last week) and is getting a gee-up.
They are p#ssed off about Howlett, but he might just be getting a breather.

I think Knights is just betting it all on pace. Fair enough, Ratten doesn't seem to have learned any way to beat the Bombers' speed thus far.
i think Lucas is a great inclusion, and we need to watch Winderlich as he always cuts us up. No Lovett is a bonus

I think there will be a fair bit of pressure on Gumby, and if we can shut him and Reimers down we should be able to starve them of goals.
Williams has apparently put his hand up and promised to lift, but I think we have the matchups for him.
I agree with other posters that Thornton has been off-form lately, and he really needs a solid game as they will look to expose him in matchups on the lead.
If Lovett Murray goes forward we should be able to cover him, but need to stay physical and keep him honest.

They have a good backline, so it will be a good test to see how far Setanta has come. Henderson also will get no easy grabs so he really needs to go hard.
Yarran needs to lift his accountability, otherwise players like Dempsey will run off him.
Goes without saying that Eddie needs to kick some goals. Don't think they really have a great matchup for him, so he should be able to play well in his 100th.
Slattery is a weak link.

Welsh is always a worry for us. Whoever he goes to (Gibbs or Murphy) will know that he is a game breaker, and they just have to find a way to go up a gear (ala Murphy in 3rd quarter last week). Judd is out and they are not rookies anymore, they have to find a way to beat the tag.
Watson is Watson. Would be great to stop him, but can't bet on it.
Brock has been playing well, but there is a worry in the back of my mind that he might get exposed against a team like the Bombers. Would be tempted to bring Hads off the emergency list... Not sure.
Bottom line for the mids is that they have to play with desire and hardness - Essendon* have got a kick up the bum and need no motivation against us. Players like Lonergan will bash and crash.
Hocking is a weak link and needs to be exposed by his opponent.

I am not too concerned about Hille and Ryder resting forward, as I don't think it has been overly successful for them so far. Also I think we have a better ruck team this year so hopefully they wont kill us like in years past.

If we can put Gumby and Williams off their games, and stop the rucks taking grabs then we will be able to get home. If second tier players like Melksham, Colyer and Houli are playing with confidence then we know we're in trouble.
Will be interesting to see who gets Winderlich - would LOVE Lucas to absolutely pants him in his debut. I hate the flower.

We NEVER matchup well against this mob. This would be our big chance. Not expecting a 10 goal win, just happy to break the hoodoo

Glad they rested Bower again. Too important to risk this early in the season. If we're fair dinkum we won't need him against this mob anyway.

All the best to Lucas. I can't believe we drafted the real no.1 pick with pick 12!! (What? Did I go too early?)

Stanton has hammy issues. So will be limited like he was last week.
Prismal cops it from Bomber fans. They dont rate him as high as some here do so probably not a big out.
I will get to training and get the word on Scotland. He will be hard to replace if he misses.

I was hoping they would bring in Bewick or Denham so I could really get fired up.

Reimers is the one this week. Pure unadulterated scum.

Hey nightcrawler, one more post and it's 2010!

Ok, I'm bored waiting for the game to start.

Good in and out. With the side we have now, you need to play hard and play well when you get the chance. Opportunities don't come easy and the luxury of getting a few games to kick into form won't happen now.

It's gonna be brutal and with Ratts desperate to lift the Blues to where we belong, players will need to show they can play.

Kane, grab the opportunity and run with it mate!

Didn't the Geelong final of '94 or our win in over the Bummers without SOS, Bradles and Kouta in 2001 teach you anything.... Never take your eyes off the prize and underestimate the opposition just because of a fw missing players...

They're also bringing in hungry players eager for a chance and with nothing to lose. Knights knows what happens when they take us on.
