!@#$%& we must win this one. And win well.

AJ and Army are both not good enough on the one on one/aerial stuff to stop Monfries..
Monfries always fires against us, he needs probably the most attention in their forward line, if we can afford it id like to see Bower on him, good clossing speed, good in the air and rarely beatin these days.....
I would like to see
Thornton-Gumby
Jamo-Williams
Bower-Monfries
If Neagles returns either try Walks/White or even Waite running off constantly
If Ryder sits forward i doubt Neagle would return so Thornton to him and Waite/white/walks to Gumby....

I just wanna see Watson tackled so hard that he has to come off with concussion. I remember when Franchina tackled Troy Bond in 98?? in Adelaide.. he just ripped him to the ground and it was all legal.. Bond was seeing stars. It was the most beautiful tackle I have ever seen. In-fact I am trying to find footage of it.

oh yes, I would also like to see Carlton win, nothing else will be good enough.

Agree on Armfield but AJ is underated in the air. When he plays on Ablett and has to play back pocket because Ablett can't get a touch in the midfield AJ was able to match it in the air with him.

Having said that If Bower isn't fit i think White has to come in to play on either Williams or Divefries, to free up Thornton and Jamo to play on Gumbleton and the other tall crap they send down there.

Miss a scum match that we are finally going to win, no way known am I going to miss it. Its only a shame that the pretty boy isn't playing any more and Sheedy isn't coaching.

Mind you, I better bring my heart medication.

Ahh.... Essendon*.

That run out of the back line has killed us for years and years and years - If there's nothing evident on Sat. night that we're doing something obvious and deliberate to try and negate it then a few very serious questions need to be asked of the coaching staff. Ratts has experienced it - been a part of what it's like to suffer from it so he should be entirely focused on it!

But... How smart is Knights?? Will he recognise that we're actually gonna attempt to deal with that whole issue and try something completely different? It wouldn't suprise me if he did and that may be our opportunity to really pound the bombers into the ground!

Two key things here - no Fletcher and no Lloyd! Massive, massive difference in how we approach Saturday night. Personally, I think it's a great opportunity to pound the scum into the ground but we just have to be a bit smart about it and Ratts totally has to remove himself from all his past history from all of his games against the Bombers and truly coach a very young and enthusiastic team who are out to prove themselves.

Jamison has a brilliant opportunity to cement his leadership credentials which were lauded in both the Melbourne papers today. Obviously people are seeing something which, to be honest hasn't been totally obvious to me since he's been playing but as was mentioned in the reports, for a Carlton player with less than 50 games to be nominated as an acting Captain for the Club speaks volumes - it'll be interesting to see how he responds! Personally, I'm very hopeful although I thought Simpson really did a great job against the Lions in very trying circumstances.

Bring it on!! No matter the result I think the Club will suprise us on Saturday night in a very positive way. I thought as I'm sure many others have mentioned that last week's Third quarter was absolutely incredible and if we can turn on two to three quarters like that on Saturday night, we'll smash the bastards - no two ways about it!

Of course, Canberra Carlton supporters will be at Eastlake to watch the game if they decide to put it on one of the big screen telly's in the main viewing areas... It should be a no brainer, but they are a Committee based Club in Canberra and as anyone from Canberra knows, once an official committee gets involved, obvious answers are the last thing to be considered as a viable option!

Teddy, you may want to try Name a Game and buy dvd's from some 80's or 90's style football too

I reckon with 10 secs to go in the 3rd qtr a retired and spectating Lloyd will trip on a grandstand step coming back from the food stall with some soft drink and a bucket of overpriced chips. He'll sprawl dramatically and the umps will spot it from the field. Carlton fans in the crowd will give him heaps and he'll be brought on out of the crowd and given a 50m penalty into the goal square. He'll score, change momentum on the cusp of 3/4 time and we'll get smashed in the last!

Ooops - sorry. I got carried away after reading Fletcher is planning his future after footy so it's probably safe to presume he is in.

Even so, I actually don't think he'll be very effective against any of our forwards really - oddly enough our new system of attacking the goals via multiple options is quite appealing and has developed even in the two weeks of the season proper. I actually don't think the traditional Essendon* defensive structure will be all that effective against it although again, Knights might have a few little suprises none of us have anticipated.

Either way, I think we'll do pretty well against the Dons and geeze we owe them so I hope Ratts is up for it. It's good to see he is trying to take a much more objective attitude against the other old enemy although it must be hard not to let emotions get in the way against a team against which you've go sooo much history.

Which reminds me of the time I went to Round 3 in 2001 and the '99 PF .... (yadda, yadda, yadda...)

GO BLUES - I hope we pummel them big time!!!

Yeah Fletcher is playing.

No doubt he'll get the big match up on Mitch Robinson

Finally got my tickets after waiting till the last minute to see what was available.
Ticketek only sell crap seats to non-members so I have to sit in crap seats. My friends aren't members so I will be sitting with them in their crap seats. My usual source of extra members tickets hasn't recieved his yet!!! He is spewing.
My mexican wife's first big game at the G. I usually take her to Docklands where the climate is under control. I want her to see the MCG pumping. No visitor to Australia should miss the chance if it comes up.
Looking forward to the game. I just hope we are behind the Carlton goals and not the Essendon*!

M56 Q 12-15 in case you're nearby. No, I won't have the blue sombrero this time. But I might be able to be overheard explaining in Spanish what's going.

Looking for a Juddless win. If we get on top early it will be a blowout as Essendon* start hard and then usually die. If they get in front early, it will be a close one. Either way, I'll take it.
