No offence exsing but this mental approach is, well, :banghead:

History is exactly that, history!

Perhaps this is why we've struggled against them the last 5 times. We keep going weak at the knees!

None taken Rexy.

History is not a bad thing. It's what makes a rivalry. Rivaly stemmed from decades of on field battles. Why do we dislike teams like Essendon*, Collingwood and Richmond so much? It's because there have been countless good ol' fashion footy matches played between us. Some we have won, and some we have lost (and aren't we glad the winning ratio is in our favour :smoking: ).

Without that history, we wouldn't be so pumped up against teams like the bombers.

On Saturday, another piece of history will be etched between two proud sides. Of course I want the Blues to kill em'...absolutely smash em'! But history tells me I need to carefully manage my expectations. Anything can happen on Saturday.

Bring it on!

Davey was shocking against Freo, so he will be up for a big one.

I don't want to tempt fate here, but does Davey ever really do anything? He has only ever got over 20 possessions once in his career and averages less than a goal a game.

If our players hated those black and red #@$&'s as much as the supporters do, I suspect we'd win by 200 points. This match is definitely a WEEKEND MAKER/BREAKER. Win it, and Sunday's going to float on by like a gentle Summer breeze. Lose and I probably won't be able to hold a civil conversation until Wednesday morning.

This is what makes it all the more galling. I see no genuine hatred from our boys. They come against us wanting to embarass us, we come up against them treating them like just another team.

This is what our boys need...

Love the attitude!! :)

"The Blues' poor record against the Bombers is particularly galling to their fans, but while acknowledging the significance of the contest, Jamison said the side was conscious to not overplay the rivalry during their preparation.

"Any time we play Essendon* it's an important game," he said.

"If we haven't won a game for the year and we play them in round 22 it's an important game.

"It's such a big rivalry and I don't think we've beaten them for [nearly] three years, but we're not building it up too much. We don't want to place extra emphasis on it [more than] any other game, but obviously it has that little bit of passion in it as well."

Little bit of passion? Jamo wake up mate, we hate them, we hate hate hate hate them, if you play against Essendon* don't be afraid to get suspended, we won't care how many weeks you get unless you fail to cause damage, we will even raise you to legend status if it so happens you knock out Davey, Monfries, Lovett or Reimers.

Overplay the rivalry, don't let this scum continue to make us their bunny.

Oh yeah, the hate runs deep and the pathetic club deserves to get spanked by us and a little bit of payback for the last few years. I would be the happiest person alive when that siren goes and we've beaten these scum!

Back to business, oh we could use Judd, but he ain't in obviously (shouldn't have contested that eye gouge). I reckon we need Waite'y to get down the forward line more often. He didn't spend enough time there last thursday night, and he killed it against richmond.

JR has really come on and is oozing confidence, we need our small forwards to kick straight and I think if the Blues kick straight overall, we will win the game.

What we want to hear is "We're sick of losing to these diving, cheating, red&black flowers. Their hypocrite favourite son tried to destroy our club. They control the media which is always on high alert to write unsubstantiaed shit about us. Not to mention the shit they do on-field to get a result. We're gonna make these flowers bleed and wish their daddies never got an itch in their pants when they saw their mommies!"

I've gone into the last 5 games thinking there was no chance we could lose....ok, make that the last 4...from memory we needed to lose the 1st in the streak...my luck has to change so no point changing my thinking

I actually think we'll destroy them. Blues by 60+

We haven't got a coach sacked since Wallace. But I reckon there is a red and black mob out their just itching to string Knights up.

Get your skates on boys and lets pound em by 12-14 goals. The media and their draw will take care of the rest.

Don't believe what they are saying about mcvein...he'll play, they are just being shifty.

People asking for White to replace Thornto need to rethink what they are saying. What has White done to warrant him gettin a spot ahead of T-bird??

Nothing wrong with picking White as a replacement for Bower. The Scum forward line is young and has probably played only a handful more games than White.

I totally agree, what self-respecting footballer will miss because a cut on his arm got infected???

He was probably in hospital getting a hair transplant.

They are trying to set themselves up as the biggest underdogs known to man, like they did this time last year, hopefully we are prepared for it this time.

Davey runs around like a fox terrier on uppers and flops to the ground like a ragdoll at the slightest touch. That's about the sum of his talents.
