I did and I doubt he could get weeks for that ... points at most. Reckless but no impact. Be good if he did, he's an important run and carry player for them. Speaking of which ... what happened to that? They had none. Lovett

Funny ... the heat was on the Blues for not having a forward line with the absence of Fev prior to the season ... the Bombers forward line is a shambles without Lloyd and Lucas. Gumbleton looks way behind Hendo development-wise (that ball drop is hilarious) and give me Yarran and Eddie over Momfrigger, Williams and Davey.

Their forward line went from poor in the first half to non-existent in the second.

Found this quote from McVeigh (who was typically useless yesterday):

''They (Carlton) have got their forward-line problems as well,'' he said. ''If you look at both sides you would say on paper Essendon*'s forward line is much better - we have got bigger forwards and more experience, more key position. They are a lot smaller forward line so you put your head down and lift for these big games.''

Really Mark? The Essendon* forward line is MUCH better? With more experience? What on earth is he talking about? I realise our forward line is our weakest link at the moment, I still think it's better than theirs with clearly more class, especially if you throw Waite down there.

That's one of the more disappointing posts I've read here for a while. Why are we trying to create factions between Carlton supporters?

Anyway, I went to the Essendon* v Freo game yesterday as a Freo mate of mine was in town. I had a great day, even backed the Essendon-Fremantle HT-FT double at $9. Essendon* were appalling. Even when they were in front I was certain they would lose, they were disorganised, indecisive and had terrible terrible disposal. Their forward line is a shambles.

I don't love getting them on the rebound because they will cop a hiding in the press this week, but on the other hand they are in bad form so hopefully we can take advantage of that. If we have our head right and our match ups right I think we can win this convincingly.

Yes,
when you consider how Melbourne turned it around..just in sheer tacking and ferocity..it could be a worry.
Does anyone know how Stanton is, as he had some very sore hammies at the end of that game.
I feel really sure we can win this game...it's in the air..doncha think?
Donstui...I was laughing and thinking of how happy you'd be watching Freo...that player that got reported...what a low blow to punch someone in the stomach...yes,i do remember them being thuggish in the past ...but what I most remember is round 3 2007.....
so if you are worried......we came back from around 40 points that day did we not?
We have bigger teams to worry about than the Dons.
We can beat them....belief is a big thing.

Would like these comments to be shown to Hendo/Setanta/Kreuzer...

We're a better team than this lot which is why the run of losses we've suffered recently to them is so galling. Ratten needs to find a counter for their Russian Roullette gameplan, I'm tired of them making us look slow.

I can't believe what McVeigh was quoted saying in the Age yesterday.

I guess he's wanting to believe those comments he's made and talk the talk.

Talk's cheap.

Like Wojee, I'm sick of them beating us when we have a much better list than there's.

Sure they will come out fighting, but so will we after losing a game we should have won.

Ratten must devise a plan to win and win well. Pressure is on you Ratts.
I have waited 6 months for revenge for that last game we were expected to win and they smashed us.
It's time for a total demolishion job on these pricks. I want to hurt them physically, so there's no run left from them in the 4thQ.

We have to win!!!!!
We are better than them, with or without Judd, Bower, Austin and Hampson.

Aren't we on the rebound from a game we should have won also?

I get the feeling that a win is non-negotiable this week with the fans.

Batten down the hatches if we slip up.

So who will their KP forwards be if Neagle is still out?
I didn't watch the whole game yesterday againt Freo.

Obviously the future rests on Gumbleton's shoulders and Jamo will take him if he's at FF.

If there's another 2 talls, of which one is made up of Hille/ Ryder, then with Bower out (I assume) and Austin injured, who will man up the ruck fowards? Sure White would be a natural selection for a tall spot, but he'd be giving away a few cm's and a few kg's to Hille in particular. Not a good idea for a first game against an opponent with wounded pride.

If they have 3 talls playing and one is a ruck sized one maybe Waite will be given the task before White.

I do prefer 3 talls doen back, and whilst I admire his ability to play tall, I don't think Walker (or Russell) is big enough to take on a 200cm 100kg giant in the teeth of goal.

Any ideas?

Yes, but the skills in the Dons v Freo game were absolute shizenhouse. If the Dons turn up with the same intensity and skill, then they will be mauled.

It doesn't matter what he says about their forwards. They will be starved of opportunities on Saturday night!

Their forwardline is Gumbleton (CHF-ish) and Williams (FF-ish) with at least one of the Rucks resting deep. And Angus falling over across half-forward.

Anderson on Williams?
Jamo on the ruck.
Thornton on Gumby.
Russell on Angus.

Others have said it and i must say i agree. This game is a MUST WIN for our Blues for the following reasons;

We go 2 and 1 with some really tough weeks ahead.

Bombers go 0 and 3.

2 wins without Juddy a very good result.

Next month for blues very tough.

My opinion on the ins and outs.

Anderson HAS TO be omitted he is terrible, he is scared, he turns the footy over and i cannot see a place for him.
Other than him i reckon everyone can stay.

To replace Ando i would bring in Grigg or Garlett but i am unsure whether there is room for Yazz, Betts and Jeff.

Final comment from me Jeez i am excited about Yarran WOW
