If he has a good season, his management could rightly ask for and will probably get a better contract from Carlton.

No rush to sign to be honest.

You just have to have faith in Bryce's character and trust in the work in progress and his mates at the club.

A lot of TCers are starting to sound like Gen Y stereotypes..."now, I must have it now".

Don't judge Gen Y'ers. I know a lot of them that aren't moaning wankers.

The NN's had their knickers in a twist a couple of years ago when Murphy hadn't signed late in the season.

It turned out it was a creative and complex deal that needed AFL approval and there was nothing to worry about.

Gibbsy's on BTG on CH10 now.

Amongst other things is fending of questions regarding re-signing.

I'm signing with the Gold Coast

Actually Mick Molley dropped a bombshell about him signing with Richmond.

I was just a bit concerned with what he said and how he said it. Probably trying to read too much, but when he said " we're working through it at the moment" it wasn't said with real conviction.

No matter what, we must re-sign him and quickly. If he's still unsigned by mid-year it won't look good.

Fair enough but the GC are a new variable now, even you would accept this

As far as re-signing goes not much at all, just what Laguna said above.

They brought up about Leading Teams helping us and Bryce talked about the honesty sessions they go through and he gave Simmo Scotto Carrotts Murph and Krooz a good rap for their leadership.

More joking and mucking around from the panel than serious questioning. Don't like that show.

Of course they are.

It has nothing to do with his negotiations with Carlton though. We'll offer him a fair contract and he'll sign in due course.

Stressing over it and becoming paranoid about GC is a waste of your time.

Would have been much happier when asked about his contract if he had said "I love it at Carlton and I am not going anywhere". Instead he said we are working through it at the moment and "hopefully" we get it sorted.

I think some of you people have little idea as to what a contract negotiation actually is and even less so how you conduct one...

Not good to guess about how much others know about certain thihngs, when you don't know those people.

I know plenty about contract negotiations bud

Look, I wouldn't be concerned iif it wasn't for GC. That is a completely new variable in the wider scheme of things.

And I still think Bryce is 80-90% sure to stay at CFC, so pls don't think I am over exaggeration the situation.

Chances are the lad will stay blue.

Al I'm saying is, if GC are into Ablett Jnr, then they might be into BG, and BG is still uncontracted for 2011.

It's folly for anyone to totally brush this off given the circumstances, and given you don't know exactly what is going on. You are guessing just as I am.

I am pretty sure he will stay blue but have one eye open bec of the extraordinary circumstances with GC looming and GC into Ablett. Why wouldn't they be into BG? He is class and will be elite. Plenty of logic here.

I would have thought GC worked on our favour. If we cant negotiate a suitable trade, Bryce would have virtually zero chance of getting to Adelaide in the PSD with GC having access to uncontracted players.
I hope he'll stay but if he wants to go, as long as we get quality for him, que sera sera.

Everyone who saw him on TV last night is saying he looked uncomfortable and far from convincing when asked about his contract

No more uncomfortable than anyone else who is asked the same question.

Are you trying to infer that he looked uncomfortable because he's considering signing with GC?

I didn't see the interview. As I said, seems a lot of ppl who saw it were not impressed his his reaction.

I am not inferring anything, other than I think it is folly for ppl such as yourself to totally dismiss the possibility maybe there is a problem. Bec you don't have inside oil, you are not in the room when they discuss the contract. I'm not either, but at least I can see there are two sides to this. Without inside knowledge or Bryce coming out and saying "I love the CFC and hope to stay here" (like Pav said recently) you have to acknowledge anything is possible.

Now as I said earlier I wouldn't be concerned if it weren't for a few factors...

GC looms - a totally extraordinary variable that wasn't in the scheme of things when Murphy resigned

SA looms - many of us still think Bryce would probably love to play for a SA club one day - the SA thing is always in the background, Murphy didn't have this issue

By all accounts his behaviour was far from convincing on TV last night when asked about the contract

Now unless you have inside oil mate, I think it is fair to have one eye open on this. Doesn't make much sense to totally ignore these factors/circumstances.

Remember, I am still 80% sure he will stay, but there is an element of doubt, that is all I am saying
