Hey all. Long time no post...................

I took a much needed break from the Carlton Football Club after the terrible off-season we had. But, for all my disgust and disappointment towards the club - it is still a Club that i love. Wouldn't be much of a supporter if i just simply 'stayed away' until the club fixed it's problems.

Anyway..........................
I'm not overly confident about tonight's match. But good luck to the Blues - i'll be there supporting ya.

Few things i'm keen to see tonight.

- REALLY looking forward to seeing how Setanta goes. I think he's set for a big year and will hopefully kick 50+goals and notch up his 100th game.

- Warnock needs to show he's worth.

- Houlihan / Betts / Walker to redeem themselves.

- Yazza to continue with some of the confidence he showed in the pre-season.

Tough year ahead boys.

Best of luck too all.

A great article with Maclure. Agree with all of his points. It only goes south when Mark Robinson offers his view. His ascertion that OhAilpin must play a "high" role is flawed IMO. Carlos can easily play out of the square which allow Henderson to play as the high leading option.
A role he's much better suited to at this stage of his development.

Quote:
Carlton is fielding a vastly different team to the one that was pipped by the Brisbane Lions in the finals. It has regained Jarrad Waite, best afield in this game last year, and Michael Jamison, while adding three seasoned recruits - Brock McLean, Robert Warnock and ex-Lion Lachie Henderson. Fevola's position in the goal square is likely to be filled tonight by Setanta O'hAilpin (who also didn't play in the Gabba final), with Henderson playing across half-forward.

Nothing of import, just feeding the chooks.

Radio jocks stock-in-trade is to throw out an inflammatory opinion, to get the phones ringing. Doesn't matter if they believe it or not... you just need to stridently put forth an opinion that you know will polarise people. That's the way talkback works.

FWIW, he said that Richmond would easily beat Carlton. And, predictably, "the phones went into meltdown". Works every time.

Dunno why people worry about that kind of thing.

That's what I said!

For the record, i have more respect for Today Tonight / ACA journalism than I do for KB and FatPrick smith.

A few years ago (after FatPrick attatcked pratt) i phoned the station and said I would switch off from 9am and turn back on at 12noon. And all these years, i've held up my promise.

If you don't listen to them or read their dribble, they simply become 'insignificant'. They hate that. They WANT and NEED to be heard...............

I am an avid listener of SEN, but i have also turned off KB's program. Unfortunatley I caught the start of his program and heard what he said.
I turned off about a month ago after his constant and relentless bagging of Carlton. This occassion he bagged them for charging $10 to get into the NSB challenge game against Brisbane. Talk back callers had a field day with smart comments about Carlton needing the money etc.
Someone from the club must have been listening and rang in explaining that the AFL set the prices and the club doesnt receive the gate receipts. He said that he was only joking and he really does like Carlton. I sent him an email and have not listened since then.

I don't know what it is about kb's show, its like watching a train wreck. It is that bad that I just cant stop listening!
anyway, this morning was just good laugh value. premeditated or not, he embarrasses himself.

It was good reading McClure's comments on the O'hAilpin incident against the scum last year. Fev was deplorable on that occasion and cost Setanta the season there and then.
Mark has been over the top with his witch-hunt of Fev but that incident left me very disappointed and I was a big pro-Fev supporter

Setanta showed in the first quarter and a half in that game and the previous one against the aints that he can be an effective tall HF. His contested marking in those 2 games were completely unexpected AFAIC. I hope he can recapture that form again. Could he be reaching a point after many years of development where he can put it together and use his obvious physical attributes to be a dangerous footballer? I think he might just so

Did I miss something here? Is there a withdrawal somewhere?

'Classy' Lucas set for Blue debut

Sorry if this has been raised elsewhere

Suggest you read the article and the date of publication

"Lucas pushed his case in a sharp, 30-minute session at Visy Park on Wednesday morning.

"If it doesn't happen this week it will certainly happen the next week or the week after," assistant coach Brett Montgomery said."

Congrats to Joey for his section. Has had a massive pre-season and it has paid off. Hope he can silence a few of the critics. He will be one of the big improvers this year.

Hey, shouldn't you be relaxing on some beach in Phuket with the wife and kids rather than posting in TC.

Hope your having a good time mate..
