Reading these threads lately, one gets really depressed how media-whipped most people here are. Oh - we are no good - forget this season and the next, sack the coach now, nobody loves us, winch, winch, cry, cry, cry

Where the hell is the Carlton swagger? Nobody left with some arrogance?

As far as I am concerned we will win the flag until I am proven wrong by events. We will make the Tiggers our bitch again, we will overrun the Lions in the last qtr at the Gabba and we will smash the toddler Bummers who have no forward line. And then Judd comes back!!

So we are Carlton - fxck the rest - and grow some cohones blues supporters. We will be all right. The sun shines and we win the flag within the next three years.

Any chance we can just WIN without the old sidekicks Swagger and Arrogance?
That's an attitude I associate with John Elliot and the like...and not sure I'd like it on Judd and the boys...
what's wrong with doing the happy dance, but still being good sports?
Why *$#@ everyone else?
what's so great about that?
Just WIN but keep it real..or are you saying the only way to win is to step on everybody else?
Surely great champions have a quiet humility,as well as a super urge to succeed?
or??.....what am I missing....Irony?.....probably...geez i hope so.

I just want to quietly go about winning and smile as we emerge back to our rightful position.

Go Blues!

Quote:
CARLTON captain Chris Judd says doomsayers discounting the Blues without Brendan Fevola are ignoring some significant off-season gains. ...........

"There's been a lot of doom and gloom around the footy club, but essentially from our point of view it's a pretty exciting time," he said.

"We're in a new facility, we've got (experienced recruits) Robbie Warnock and Brock McLean, who have never played a senior AFL game for the club.

"Chris Yarran and Mitch Robinson, these guys are a year older and a year more mature, and some other players have had some really big pre-seasons as well."

Carlton is also relishing the return of key defenders Jarrad Waite and Michael Jamison from injury.

"We want to improve, we want to play finals and everyone's working hard to ensure that happens," Judd said.

Very happy to read the captain's comments.

I could care less about external expectations. As long as the playing group, coaching panel and match committee are expecting to improve and play finals that's all that matters.

Internally we should not be resigned to having a tough year.

excellent post!! i totally agree about the high percentage of negative poster's on here. its pathetic

Lets be honest here, there is no doubt we are getting close to 17 (2-4 years), which seemed a century away just a few years back. I am very happy with where we are at, our young list coupled with the experience of judd, waite etc. I remember going to 15 or so games a year between 2000 and 2008 and knowing we would get flogged by all. Now we are on the way back. STRAP YOURSELVES IN FOR THE RIDE OR @#$% OFF.

everyone is sucked in by stupid stories wriiten by the likes of 'slobbo' robinson and his crew at the hun. Im sick of this negative crap, the tigers do not have a clue whats coming on thursday. A carlton with a steely resolve, ready for all comers!!

C'mon you BAGGERS!

Great attitude to have!!

She'll be right mate

Just because we were great once means we'll be great again.

Who cares that the clubs are going flying past us at a rate of knots, we're Carlton, f$%k the rest. Who needs to worry about the workings of the club? We have the arrogance and the swagger  :donk:

That's an attitude I associate with success when harnessed the right way.

Swagger and arrogance are also closely associated with confidence.

A confident team will play with cohesion and structure.

A confident team will be a winning team.

A winning team means Premiership 17!!

Premiership 17 = Swagger and Arrogance

That is Carlton, well use to be when we were top of the pops.

Yeah I think using those terms like 'the Carlton swagger' and 'we're Carlton f*ck the rest' is a bit pretentious these days. Those terms belonged back when we were looked upon as the ones to beat.

We exist in a totally new era now where we need do new things and find new ways to accelerate through the pack of clubs we are now mixed in with and get back into a situation where others genuinely envy us once again.

genuine envy...yep...
we'll get there..such an amazing group of young men.

I dunno Rafa...I get what you are saying...its just...isn't arrogance just strength and power tipped over into overblown ego?
and what about swagger?....being so full of yourself you can't walk straight?....that's different from walking tall and proud...
