Where the hell is the Carlton swagger? Nobody left with some arrogance?

As far as I am concerned we will win the flag until I am proven wrong by events. We will make the Tiggers our bitch again, we will overrun the Lions in the last qtr at the Gabba and we will smash the toddler Bummers who have no forward line. And then Judd comes back!!

So we are Carlton - fxck the rest - and grow some cohones blues supporters. We will be all right. The sun shines and we win the flag within the next three years.

CARLTON captain Chris Judd says doomsayers discounting the Blues without Brendan Fevola are ignoring some significant off-season gains. ...........

"There's been a lot of doom and gloom around the footy club, but essentially from our point of view it's a pretty exciting time," he said.

"We're in a new facility, we've got (experienced recruits) Robbie Warnock and Brock McLean, who have never played a senior AFL game for the club.


"Chris Yarran and Mitch Robinson, these guys are a year older and a year more mature, and some other players have had some really big pre-seasons as well."

Carlton is also relishing the return of key defenders Jarrad Waite and Michael Jamison from injury.

"We want to improve, we want to play finals and everyone's working hard to ensure that happens," Judd said.

That's an attitude I associate with John Elliot and the like...and not sure I'd like it on Judd and the boys...

That's an attitude I associate with success when harnessed the right way.

Swagger and arrogance are also closely associated with confidence.

A confident team will play with cohesion and structure.

A confident team will be a winning team.

Yeah I think using those terms like 'the Carlton swagger' and 'we're Carlton f*ck the rest' is a bit pretentious these days. Those terms belonged back when we were looked upon as the ones to beat.

We exist in a totally new era now where we need do new things and find new ways to accelerate through the pack of clubs we are now mixed in with and get back into a situation where others genuinely envy us once again.
