Well the headline makes out the situation to be worse than the story actually reveals.

HERALD Sun reporter Jon Anderson was last night charged with drink driving and careless driving.

Anderson, 53, was charged after an accident in Glen Iris at 7.15pm where he crashed into a pizza shop.

No-one was injured.

He was taken to Malvern Police Station where he recorded a blood alcohol reading of .139.

Well well well. Wonder if he'd just been on a booze cruise.

Just saw it on the news CK and boy is he lucky no one was injured.

I wonder if it will make the front page of the HUN :sly:

Anderson should be stood down immediately pending a full investigation (if not a Royal Commission) headed by a retired Supreme Court judge who will have full power to subpoena witnesses and hand out appropriate punishments. If the trail leads to other Hun reporters, the investigation should be widened to include them as well. This could be merely the tip of an alcoholic haze at the Hun which may explain the somewhat misty sports reporting in recent times.

And so I advise.

PS No one saw Robinson in the car with him ?

There seems to be a problem with the site. There seems to be a lot missing from that article, as well as the feature to add comments. I'll be sending their webmaster an email to rectify these technical glitches.

"this incident is just the latest in a horror decade for the Herald Sun which has seen it's former editor in chief fined for being caught driving at more than 2.5 times the legal limit in 2002 and a reporter being heavily involved in drunken sexual harrasment allegations at the 2009 brownlow medal ..."

Despite being 12 hours old already, the best the Herald Sun can do is a 54 word 'story' buried down the bottom of their website.

Pissed as a newt, 3 times the legal limit, drives over the footpath into a pizza shop at dinnertime, could've killed someone... and 54 words.

Obviously they've got a "Reverse Translator" down at the Herald Sun too. I'm surprised the headline doesn't read "Upstanding Reporter a little too Eager to pick up Takeway"

Watch the media close ranks around this one. Lets see if Neil Mitchell and Hinch have much to say tomorrow.

Nice to see people in glass houses get their comeuppance.

Culture of drink driving.

Is this the one I saw on the news this morning where he drove through the back roller door of the shop?

As a VCE English Student I look at all Journalists as ROLE MODELS I am saddened and disappointed that this particular ROLE MODEL has let me down - I now have a disturbingly strong desire to sneak into my father's liquor cabinet and consume all its contents - as I now change my behaviour to that of this ROLE MODEL journalist.

We should run a poll. How long will this photo last on this regular column?

I read our comments here and clicked the link to read the full story.

I don't bother buying the HS anymore.

Great example of why.

On 3AW this morning I heard him say the reason the accident happened was because his foot slipped off the brake. :sly: :sly:

NO!

The reason the accident happened is because you had a 4 hour lunch that involved copious amounts of       and then like the complete and utter flower you are you later rolled the dice by driving a motor car. You should thank your lucky stars no-one was hurt.

As it is, your Insurance Company will wash its hands of you and you have to foot the bill for the repairs.

Karma's a bitch when you are hollier than thou!

Of course it happened because his foot slipped off the brake.

Unfortunately for Mr. Ralph, his foot slipped off the brake because he was pissed.

Was he SERIOUSLY attempting to justify what happened?? That's almost as bad as the act itself.
