Living in sydney since 81 you got hardly anything unless it was Swans Related - Inside Football was the only way you kept up and not all news agencies used to stock it - Sometimes you would get the day old melbourne newspaper

Back in those days we used to play at PP every second Saturday so we were lucky enough to get the Saturday Arvo game live in sydney on most weeks

Mind you there wasn't as much drama and bullshit back then and you were happy just watching the game

Is also helped that we used to win a lot

Certainly less bickering and petty bitching amongst the fans.

Hmm, I remember going to a game in Sydney either just before or just after I first registered on TBV. I was gobsmacked at the amount of shit the travelling Carlton supporters gave our players. It's still miles worse than anything I've read on any forum. I just couldn't work out why on earth they bothered to go to the game if their entire time there was going to be spent bagging the team. At least by maintaining some form of positive viewpoint you can extract a semblance of enjoyment, even out of some of the worst defeats. I get the feeling these guys would have found fault in the 95 GF.

Actually, come to think of it, after the 95 GF the players they would have been hanging shit on in week 1 of that finals series would have been lauded as heroes and their favourite all time players after the GF.

Satisfaction comes in many forms and on many different levels. People aren't robots programmed all the same way. One man's meat is another man's poison.

before?
Well,
first the dinosaurs came,
Then the earth cooled, and the ice age began...
Not long after,
someone said...we have to go to a footy game.
a footy game!....what is it?
its a lot of men running around with a ball..

nah..that doesn't work as well as
a hospital!.....what is it?
it's a large building with lots of beds in it.
but...anyway..you can see how time was filled in...
rather badly...

like now.

I remember telling (not so politely) people to lay off bagging Michael Sexton 'cos he was only a kid and still finding his footy feet.
