3/4 time:
them 11.9
Us 6.7

Waite did some nice things. Good to see him back. Playing in backline.
Browne did well in middle at start of that quarter.

Sounds like the Eagles will win by about 3 goals.

11 mins into the last quarter. Goals to Betts and Houlihan, Blues 8.7(55) Eagles 13.9(87)

Make that about 5 to 6 goals.

Grro indicated Wiggins was limping?

Swung the other way and lost by 39. A lot of goals directly from turnovers in a mostly inexperienced defence.

Still two spots in the 26-man squad unaccounted for from the reports that came in. Pretty sure Jacobs missed but did Armfield get a run? Tiller?

EDIT: Named the wrong player under an injury cloud

Casboult - yes - did a couple of nice things, looks a bit tentative
White - yes - the New Kouta.... only joking. Got a couple of touches
Kerr - yes - looks unfit.
Dondaldson - yes - Did a couple of nice things and nearly kicked a nice goal in last quarter.

Tiller - yes - see Casboult.

Murph and Waite got through and did some nice things. Good to see Waitey back and doing what he does. (At one point, he stripped NicNat of the ball, dodged around 3 blokes then scrubbed the kick!)

Lucas - did some nice things, didn't look out of his depth. Could play early, especially with Juddy out for first 3.

Browne - did some nice things when in the middle, go us going in 3rd quarter with gutsy play (smother, mark).

Davies - did quite well I thought. He will be scary once he realises that it is he who will be doing the hurting!

Setanta - presented reasonably well, obviously been told to hold back his leads. Took some good marks, looked to be limping a bit after good sheppard for Lucas' goal.

Jamo - Gun.

Walker - did some nice things, did some ordinary things.

206 & Hammer won the hit outs quite easily I thought. Didn't do a hell of a lot around the ground. Hammer took nice mark in last quarter and nearly squeezed home a goal from 50 (directly infront...)

A bit of a meh game really. Good to get some gametime into Waite, Murph and 206. Don't know if we would have learnt anything that will help us this year.....

As for gameplan.... looks same as last year.... :banghead: No one to kick it to off half back, players either too lazy or told not to run hard down the line and move the ball on. Trying to get back into the corridor from half back is dumb. Kick outs ordinary, yet other team gets them out easily.

Bring on the real stuff and let the rookies show something in the VFL.

Well we were definately taking that easy... Fairly relaxed warm up game though a few eagles went in hard.

Umpiring was quite poor IMO eagles got plenty of frees accounting for about 4 or 5 of their goals where I'm not sure if we got any?

No injuries that I saw

We took ages to get going and it was pretty even in the second half

Quick wrap of few players - might add more later

Donaldson - like the look of him did a few nice things stuffed it up a couple of times too but seems to really have a go
Browne - not too bad played an inside role and got a few touches
Walker - good game was pretty composed and showed his class
Lucas - kicked a nice goal on the run and showed a few good signs but doesn't quite look strong enough yet?
Casboult - didn't get much of it though didn't get much time and was on glass
Murphy - looked good when on and kicked a goal but didn't play much and had shoes off by 3/4 time
Waite - didn't play til after half time but played well at chb from then after and gave nicnat a touch up in last 1/4

Others - looked like a very young team plenty of guys missing I was impressed with no43 is that white?

Btw armfield didn't play didn't see joseph either? Tiller did play didn't do a lot though

all sounds pretty positive to me...great for the young kids to experience a trip to Perth so early in their AFL careers and also nice for the West Aussies in the group to play in front of family and friends...I'd say the coaching staff would have got quite a bit out of that ...you get something out of any trip you take as a group.

Any of the boys wearing GPS units out there today?
