Hey Synbad how much would the Blues need to pay to have you coach them.

You sound like you've got it all sorted.

Your game plan sounds awesome.

Damn if we only had you in charge of this rabble we call the Carlton Footy Club we'd have to build another new cabinet to store our Prem' Cups.

You could be first man to be president and coach. Oh and could you take a grab up forward for us aswell?

25-35 from Henderson (1-1.5 per game)
90-110 from the mid field (4-5 per game)
35-45 from the bigs rotating up forward (1.5-2 per game)
20-30 from the backline (1 per game)

Fixed.

That makes for about 15 goals a game, being conservative. The only real question mark in those figures is Waite. 40+ expected from him if we're in with a shot.

How anyone can make such an assessment on 2 preseason games is mind boggling
Swans took a full strength saints to with in one point on Saturday night
make no mistake swans wanted this preseason more than any as members are dropping like flys
that same side plus it's best defensive player beat us by a goal when they were on show to the entire western Sydney
we will get better this year don't care what you think

a few months back you were singing thr praises of McLean yet most are writing him off without a blow been thrown surely ratts hasn't destroyed him in 4 months
warnock walker Maclean Waite all big pluses for this side

Yep, also very encouraged about the Swannies efforts v Saints.

Taking it to the nth degree:

Pies beat Crows after also running Saints to 1 point;
Crows lost to Power, Power also creamed WC at Subi (by more);
We beat Lions who pushed mighty Doggies very hard in Canberra; and
Doggies hammered Hawks.

Season over, give us the Cup now!

I wish they played Walker as that half forward that we have been lacking for years, a Robert Murphy type role. Sure, rotate him through the midfield at times but I would love to see him kick 30 goals this year.

Put him on a wing and let him use his HUGE motor to chug up and back to help out and then run the lines forward at full tilt. Let him off the leash and we will see the very best of him. Let him rest up forward from time to time. Who's going to catch him on a lead? His best football will be when he plays free and instinctive. It might not suit the modern game of accountability but every team needs the X factor man that is hard to match up on.

Regards Cazzesman

Agree 100% Cazzesman!

x2

Hampson and Walker on a lead would be a nightmare for the oppositions. Betts and Yazz aren't slow either. Add Hoops and there is a bit of speed up forward

What a joke. I got on to this thread to read what people thought about the game and expected to see some players did this and that, would have liked to see more of such and such.

Instead it ia a rant about how the team is crap, the coach is crap, the world is crap - THIS THREAD IS CRAP!

Tell me about it, I thought there would be a bit more positivity after Fridays win.

If you hate the club so much, go and barrack for the team you do like...............

Geez........

I hope we do well this year so media, some of you and opposition supporters can "SUFFER IN YOUR JOCKS"........

Agree with regards to the first four players mentioned. If Hoops has pace he must be hiding it in his other handbag.

I'd call him lazy.

I'm with you Sal. Just came back to this thread after a couple of days and apparently we are the worst team ever!

I was disappointed after the Swans game but I watched the replay closely a couple of days later (without the passion) and we were not that bad! I also went to the Brisbane game and thought there was plenty to be excited about especially Henderson, Setanta and our small forwards. Backline looks very solid and settled. With Waite, Murph and Armfield to come back (and Gibbs to get out of practice match mode) I think we are looking OK.

The possession style might look untidy at times and occasionally breaks down but every team I have watched this pre-season looks the same. The rule changes have changed the look of the game (at times now looks like a rugby scrum until the 'feed' comes out). Our clearance work in both games has been as good as anyone.

Top 8 without a doubt, top 6 probably.

I hope all these negative posters will take back all the crap they are going on with when we have a good 2010 season. (and yes I will have to admit if I am wrong too .... but I am not  )

They won't, because they'll expect nothing short of a GF.

if there was a proper process in place for the best person to coach the club and i was part of that process.. and i won it cos i was most qualifiied.. id do it for half of what Ratts is doing it having received the job with no process.
Actually i wouldnt want a contract.. they could sack me any time if i wasnt the right man for the job.... i wouldnt force them into contracts and extentions when im not the best man to lead the club....

..again...you're guessing...no one is suggesting that we'll be world beaters. It's going to take time to adjust to life without a power forward, but if you don't like the direction the club is heading in...don't be a part of it...the way you and Keogh post it amazes me that you hand over money for your memberships each year.

And I don't care that you don't like Ratten as coach...but please suggest some alternatives...and some alternative game plans...suits me just fine if we're defensive this year and the mids take some more accountability instead of sitting off their opponents waiting for a cheap posession...but please Synbad - don't just repeat the same argument ad nauseum time and time and time again....no one with any power to do anything is reading this.

can i actually ask how u can make a sweeping statement like"Synbad hates Ratten"... can u expland on what your definition and context of that is???

Cos im not sure why you and on what context you made that accusation....

Do i hate him as a Carlton footballer?
A person?
Or dont believe he is the best man to coach this club???

If its c) why say it the way you said it?
If its a) or b) can u prove it???

Cos i am arguing Carlton matters.. gameplans.. structures.. capabilities..processes.. positions... etc

and some people are some people are using me as their argument to argue .... which is laughable...cos im a commentator on a forum... on what i see and feel..... but have no bearing on the goings on and the lack of gameplan.. structures and development around the footy club....

by the way i giggle to myself when someone replied to DOA... "If thats what 1AW thinks blah blah blah"

I'm glad you did. That was it's intention very much tongue in check  DOA was very much hot to trot and thats understandable given how negative fansites are and how difficult it is to shift peoples views once they have a negative slant on something. I'm not sure it is wise for parents, just as it isn't for players to frequent the forums. An awful lot of vitriol and at the other extreme sucking up, which I would have thought would make it an unpleasant place to visit. DOA had every right to call me a smartarse and it would have been a fair call.

But back to business. It's going to be an expensive year for you, buying all the other teams gear and cheering on Carlton's opposition. Another thing that hasn't changed since last season is you still seemed confused as to whether you hate Ratten's lack of a gameplan or the defensive gameplan that you say doesn't exist

This thread is no longer about the game and the Synbad merry go around can move to another thread.
