hehe... i like it.

only 3 goals from key position players it seems - but at least the spread is widened and Hendo played well. We will need at least 2, 3 or preferably 4 goals per game from Judd and Simpson me thinks. As if Judd isn't doing enough elsewhere...lazy sod.

dont forget marc murphy will return. he's good for a goal or two most weeks.

not to mention jarrad waite. he's going to be like a new recruit this year.

There is footage of Fev playing today on the AFL website already. He looks like an escaped mental patient at the moment. Hopefully there were a few "Mufasas" yelled at him today.

Judging by the footage it was the Fev show at Visy Park today.

Strange looking at the score.

I just hope there weren't any injuries today, sounds like everyone got a good hit out.

Just the way he'd have liked it

Hendo gave a goal away to Yazza too.

So clearly knows how to play the team game.

Betts BOG by a mile. Must have taken 15-20 marks. Played leading up and then as a crumber. Fit as a fiddle.
Satanta gave us something to aim at and played well but drifted out of the game a bit.
Henda look great. A little bit shy with the ball but will get confidence. Kicked a couple and gave a few off and missed one or two. Took some nice marks.
Brock was better but made plenty of mistakes by foot.
Backline looked great. Still a few errors when flicking it around and their footpassing wasnt the best but they looked in control on most of the bears forward entries. Bowers attacking play probably won us the game in the end.
We played and moved the ball better but were still scrappy in "the bubble" often handing it straight to them. In fact we gave them a lot of their score.

Better than last week but still plenty of work to be done before round one.

Happy with the result. Would appear at this early stage to be a much more positive performance. Greatly look forward to match reports for those that will be so kind.

It is just a Feb practice match though. Let’s not forget this mob beat us in a final. Hopefully we can repeat the result come round 2 without our captain.

Pleased to hear Bower went okay. With a bit of polish he could/will be a very handy player.

The good old right wing rag has done it again.

On reporting about todays match :

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/b ... 5834901738

"Brisbane's win was tempered by what appeared to be another injury to luckless ruckman Jamie Charman."

I thought the blues won the match.

Managed to see 3 quarters. Special K into the ruck after 1/2 time really sparked us. Juddy turned it on a few times. Eddie's preseason stuff up could see the real making of him this year. 35 degree heat and he played most of the game by all accounts and looked as busy at the end as I have ever seen him.

Hendo might become a cult figure very quickly if he continues to work as hard each week. Setanta likewise. Jamo and T-Bird solid. Bower excellent. Warnock also solid in the 1st half.

More intensity meant more run after 1/2 time. Skills still so-so but the heat must have been punishing on the ground, so fatigue was obviously an issue.

Gibbs solid. We certainly need to get it into his hands forward of centre as much as we can.

Nice to see the boys up the ante a tad. A confidence boost for a few no doubt.

Regards Cazzesman

As for Darren who phoned SEN after walking out at 1/2 time................"Suffer in ya jocks ya sad sack" :smoking:

Thanks for the report

Is that the Darren that rings up SEN/3AW all the time?

If so he's an embarrassment.

Was there for 1st half with my fella..(bombers supporter..can't be helped)so a big highlight was standing in front of the silverware cabinet for a good 5 minutes.
The facilities look awesome..we were both impressed..and i hope he is jealous.
For me..setant,yaz,judd stood out..but i saw lots to like..as well as some of the flaws often spoken about here.
I imagine once Murphy and Waite come back,we might go ok.
Wasn't too bad at all seeing Fev..in fact, I had a laugh at some of the guys yelling out stuff to the Brissie no.5!
I know I'll clap him same as always if he does one of his spekky goals..but ....otherwise...

Just got back from Visy, so good watching the blues play there again, here my thoughts,

Betts - easily our best, very lively and looked dangerous when near the ball
Walker - great game, looked a cut above and disposal was mainly good although he still chose a couple of poor options
Hendo - getting some more confidence, looked dangerous at times and just kept presenting, looks like he will be a good player but we need to be patient.
Kruze - much much better in ruck than fwd, ruck work and second efforts were great
Carlos - still looks lost, need to keep giving him an opportunity but Im not sure he is the answer
Judd - great as usual
Gibbs - good first half, looked awesome early and then faded or rested
Yarran - flashed in and out as usual, not convincing yet, but must must persist
Carrots - strong game, much better than last week, disposal stll concerning
Scotland - strong game, hard at it, consistent
Warnock - OK, not much around the ground, will get better
Jamo - strong and straightens us right up
T-Bird - typical game mostly good, with a couple of poor errors
Russell - typical frustrating game, wins the ball, looks awesome running of half back and nails his kick straight to an opponent...should never ever take the kick ins....ever....ever
Mclean - better than last week, but not great, just looks so slow, dont think he likes the firm track
Bower - incredible defending and is becoming one of the best rebounding defenders in the compettion
Browne - typical game, tried hard, has a crack but in my opinion he is just not up to AFL standard as he doesnt have any special trick, not great at anything
AJ- solid, hard at it, without getting a lot of it
Robbo - great first half and just has a crack at everything, skills good, but like last years, goes hard early and ran out of puff
Simmo - talk time getting back into, took two screamers, finished strongly, look very skinny this year
Houla - quiet, needed the run I reckon

If Ive missed any one let me know...

Agree with all of this. Setanta really impressed me as well, he did give Eddie a cheap goal after marking directly infront 20 out. And his football smarts are underrated, my favourite Irish moment was when he knew he couldn't mark the ball so he cleverly tapped it to Betts advantage...

Really liking our backline as well.

I thought Browne was definitely one of, if not the worst out there today. He found plenty of the pill early which was a greatsign but he butchered it and his decision making was shot.

Kreuz continues to impress, I know how good he can be when the ball hits the deck but he still leaves me amazed sometimes.

Henderson>>> Fevola. I reckon Fev cost his side more goals directly from free kicks and mistakes than he kicked.

Great to be playing footy at Visy once again
