I thought Andrew Eccles may have become a reasonable player for us - what made it worse was we traded away Kris Massie for him who played some solid footy for the Crows - dumb trade

Brett Backwell's delisting puzzled me - got a Rising star in his third game and had plenty of pace.

Andrew Cavedon looked like he could be a 100 game player early on. Just seemed to lose his way.

Brett Sholl in 92 was a world beater - thought he'd kick on but 93 GF left permanent scars to his career.

Had hopes that Cameron Croad would develop but the Pagan era wasn't good on kids - if you hadn't been recycled you didn't stand a chance. Ditto Blake Campbell

Adam Hartlett & Jake Edwards hurt as they were relatively early picks.

I was always waiting to see what the club saw in Adam Chatfield - but that never seemed to come to the surface...

Adam White was another who seemed to be given an eternity to make the grade but just didn't seem to advance. Hard to imagine he was in the 1999 Prelim Final.

Karl Norman & Laurence Angwin has been covered extensively - no need to add. Both would've played 100 games on ability alone.

Karl Norman (would fit right into the team)
Blake Campbell (Very good foot skills)
Justin Davies
Brad Pearce (could have been better... almost fev like on the lead at times. injuries, work ethic ruined him, has a premiership medallion though.)
Laurence Angwin (all the talent, always a lost cause tho)..

I was actually thinking the same thing, but was not game enough to say it. I thought he showed a bit for us, and his last season with us was 2003 before he went to Richmond and nothing was seen of him there.

Ian Prendergast while he played as a tall wingman or at CHB. Knew he was screwed when we started using him as a 2nd ruckman tho.

Also Kris Massie, thought he was gonna be great, really disappointed when we traded him. Turned out to be a servicable player, but nothing more.

With Adelaide's incredible history of being able to get the best out of every player, it got me thinking that maybe the Crows got more out of him than any other club could.

Rod Gault who we pinched from Fitzroy...looked a million dollars with his bouncy blond locks and height...I remember him kicking a few goals.

Jamie Dunlop who was someone at the clubs "love child". Seemingly being groomed for dizzy heights but unfortunately like many before him and many after him..."look like Tarzan, play like Jane".

Oh the memories. I really enjoyed going to the football in those days. All games played on the Saturday, watching the progressive scores of the other games on the old scoreboard.... a v's b
etc. Got to sing the song with gusto nearly every week as well. Our ground used to be one hell of a ground and each week was sooo special....just off for a bit of a cry.

Wasn't Galt from St Kilda? I think you might be thinking of Ruskucklic (sp?) from Fitzroy.

Thought Galt was from the dogs actually but I was only a kid when he played - do remember he was my favourite ressies player and he wore 17.

Rod Galt ex Saint.

He is still living on the GC in his mansion.

Had some money issues recently.

His brother was a (premiership) coach and mate of mine...still is a mate

RE: Rod Galt my mistake It was the Saints.

Ruscuklic (Spelling) was from Fitzroy. Think his first name was Alex?

My mates called him Autumn Leaves (always falling to the ground).

Troy Bond was another I had high hopes for...

Michael Mansfield was all Australian twice when at Geelong.

According to Blueseum we gave up pick 31 & the cats selected Paul Chapman :yikes:

What a dud Mansfield turned out to be :hitcomputer:

Tim Flemming. Hard nosed midfielder who loved getting his hands dirty. IIRC we delisted him and he got picked up by Richmond.
