Ratts is very comfortable with his team of assistant coaches... not sure I am though..

It's natural for the skills to possibly be a little rusty this time of year but they were diabolical on Saturday night. :?

Diabolical? A bit harsh there budzy. Both teams had players struggle with the conditions, but not all players struggled with their skills.

Brock didn't get the ball enough to show any skills issues.

Surely we are not hanging this guy after 1 NAB cup game

Didn't have good game but let's wait to assess

In a months time against Richmond I reckon he will be in the best 3 on the ground

One game doesn't make a superstar......unless you're John Coleman with 12 goals in his first game against a top fullback.

Give Brock a break. Being judged on the basis of a single match is a bit much. There are always things that have occured with a player that the keyboarders here are not aware of.

But the general comments about new players being out of sorts because of the lack of a gameplan might just end up proving to be more correct than some people are assuming.

If this ends up being the case - then Synbad might be partially vindicated - But only partially.

In the longer term - It would be foolish to underestimate the survival and self preservation instincts of Stephen Kernahan.

He's been through a lot - and despite what some others might think - he has also learnt a lot along the way.

Using some of the logic here 13 wins plus a missed goal by Fev against Hawthorn, and the round 3 4pt loss after the double goal in the 3rd qtr tells me if we had a bloke who could actually coach with a game plan we'd surely have been the most certain premiers ever.

Unfortunately, after our round 1 meaningless NAB Cup loss, Brock's a dud and our season is sadly gone....lol!

I think his name was Darren Eason/Easton he also had shocker in a Pre Season comp game.... So what people are telling me here (some ) is that Brock is doomed.....

Can posters be drug tested ??? :thanks: :thanks: :donk:

It's just like a Seinfeld episode!! Has anyone here ever seen the "Kiss Hello" episode?? If so, then you will know what I am talking about

Just reading one of Robbo's live blogs that took place today, the issue of debate being the handshake. Interesting some of the comments he makes, and it's a bit of a comedy read when bloggers accuse him of Carlton bias.

Take a read http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/l ... 5833385818

Exactly. His choice. I never shook hands before any game of footy or tennis or cricket etc.

After game though, no worries.

Of course when it came to the story in the HUN - it was all about how he didnt shake hands at the start of the match.

The fact that that has more to do with his personal preference than it does with any semse of malice ill intent or poor sportsmanship was hardly mentioned.

They sure dont like letting the truth getting in the way of a good story - especially when it's an anti Carlton one.

Reading the Herald Sun article - it quoted 'a carlton official' as saying that Brock never shakes hands before a match - but does afterwards - as if it is some kind of preference.

The HUN article also said that because he was seen shaking hands afterwards - and he happened to play poorly - then that 'says a lot about him'

But might this also be nothing more than a personal preference or habit - with nothing read into things more than that?

I remember SOS walking up to Tony Lockett at a game at Visy Park in the late 90's, hand half extended. When Lockett looked the other way SOS quickly put his hand to the side and got on with it.

They wrestled all day and shook hands after the game.

Just the way it should be.

Couple of years ago Nick Maxwell went over to David Neitz and offered his hand who didn't take it.

Maxwell then spit the dummy

It's been done many times before, Quarterbrain had nothing better to talk about I guess.

Quartermain is the most anti-carlton commentator on the planet - lucky we have wallsy, tim lane and a few others to balance him out.

By the way, Roos has a bee in his bonnet about beating the blues. included rubbing in the bradshaw pick-up. not sure what happened to him in a former life - bad pasta at totos?
