Poor kid has had a bad run of injuries - so fragile.
He's AFL career looks set in stone.
Gives blokes like Caleb Tiller a chance. Garlett to get permanent promotion.

Must go the new ACL surgery if any hope to save his career.

this is really sad news. I have always liked the Fish. Best of luck for the operation and the rehab. I was hoping that he would make 100 games this year.

I quite like Fish, but let's not get hystericall. As good a mark as Swan McKay?????!!!! I think you might have had one too many at the London Tavern. Get out some videos from the 70s and have another look.

I thought his kicking last night was leaps and bounds better than we've seen from him for a couple of years.

While I feel sorry for the Fish, you reckon his kicking was better? I think that's just being nice.

If the game showed anything, while he played okay he has not improved and his bad luck gives a youngster a chance to be promoted to the senior list.

Has anyone thought of Joe Dare who had big wraps and publicity pre draft?

True Teddy,

To have an injury like this is just terrible for fish and maybe he would have been servicible for some games this year, but he was never going to be the 'missing link' in our progress.

I wish him a speedy recovery and hope he gets to 100 games, but I also hope this situation opens the door for a long term option up forward.

The only positive if there can be one was nobody knew fish did it, in other words he didn't need a stretcher to be helped from the ground.
The only thing I did see on the TV was fish limping around the boundary line heading into the rooms.

Fingers crossed its only minor and its a 6-8 week injury.

Good luck with the scan today fish.

Damnable luck for Brad, had high hopes for him this year. Was hoping he could stamp himself as a good lead up forward option.

Hope it is not the end for him, but suspect that it is. Shame.

Bad luck for Fish - He's been a solid soldier for 7 years and really deserved to experience some good times. Looks like he'll be stranded on 98  .

Good luck to him for the next 12 months.

Fisher had scans yesterday and is seeing his surgeon this morning. There should be news this afternoon.
Brad and club are devasted, this was the best he had felt for years. There is a history of bad knees in his family. Rotten luck for him especially as he is out of contract this year.

For mine, Fisher needed to impress this year to survive on our list. Now that he has done an injury of this extent, it's going to be very interesting to see whether Ratten will persevere with him, Fisher will announce his retirement or Ratten will be the one to deliver some bad news. Still stuck on 98 games and it could be curtains on his career- tragic.

Putting emotions aside, Fisher is no more than average forward who hasn't done enough to Claim CHF as his own. He is your average Third best tall forward and his contribution is always limited to 1-2 goals a game. Our problem in the forward line is way bigger than retaining or losing him.

We need Serious forwards next year. even if it means doing a Barry Hall kinda of thing.....

Putting emotions aside, I feel he should be let go by next year. He will just be a liability for the Club.

Absolutely right. He was never going to be part of the long term future. At 25 he has shown what he can do. Ratts could have let him play the 2 games to reach the magic 100 and left him in the VFL for the rest of the season when he could leave gracefully.

Unfortunately it looks like that will not happen now. He may not have beenthe best player at Carlton but he was never one of those players who publically brought shame to the club and he deserved a little good luck.

Just saying that for a player to be around during some tough times and battled hard through injury, the club is starting to see some better times and he is stuck on 98 games with a career threatening injury. I feel for him, regardless of his skill level.

Bad luck for the guy. I rate him as a player, I just don't like the way he's been played - the leading up to a wing, marking, slowing the play and kicking to a 2 on 1. Like Wiggo, guys who can't instinctively read the play and carry the ball shouldn't be involved moving the ball through the middle of the ground. If he plays deep forward, he plays to his strength as a marking target and has a place in the team after his recovery IMO.

He's a tough bugger Bosman so I wouldn't take that as a guide. Last time he did his ACL, he got up and took the kick before jogging off the ground.
