He wont be the last player to get cleaned up by Brett kirk. The fact that Sydney thought he was worthy of their best tagger displays the potential he has to influence the game.
He'll be a very good player for the blues.

Bagging a player after 1 NAB cup game for his new club.
What a joke.
This thread should be renamed Flogcentral.

anyway. good night.

no hes stayed the same..... no gameplan still...

i cant think of a time McLean played a game for 5 touches for Melbourne.
We get players from other clubs but they seem lost when they get here. im not making a call on Brock im a fan... but i do wonder what happens when players just come to us and seem to struggle...
I honestly think our players are lost in a wishy washy gameplan they dont believe in

Was hoping to enjoy this thread away from Sinbad's bleating. Dammit the man (or is it a woman?) seems to be everywhere! Same old same old.
Anyway Mclean seemed in a trance when Kirk offered to shake his hand.
There's no doubting his endeavour/desire.
Best wishes to Brock he will only get better.

Dear Synbad

When I first started checking this site consistently a few years ago, your posts were some of the ones I looked forward to reading (not to mention gravitating to your easily recognisable avatar)

The posts usually sounded like you had some good mail and sounded like they were coming from a bloke who had some understanding on the game.........NOW.........I shudder when I see one of your posts. You are on a bandwagon now, you are a one trick pony who rabbits on about the one issue only!

Like the dog with the bone, you probably won't give it up by the sounds of your posts. But look, you may be right? Ratten and sticks might get sacked/leave in 2 years if it doesn't work out. It could happen because its a tough game AFL.

So all I can suggest is maybe have a breadth of opinions on many topics to do with Carlton..... and then post about other things inbetween your Ratts/sticks rants. Then we all might come to respect your footballing understanding again and not cringe when reading all your future posts.

Cheers
Dennis Denuto

I hope Brock does well this year, but people must remember he is coming from a long way back. He hasn't a played a dominating game since 2006 and didn't make Melb's top 10 in their B & F (2009). Then again, Lewis Jetta was playing his first ever game at this level and seemed to cope fine!

Dear Dennis,
Years ago i was a younger man.I was very positive about the footy club.
I believed we were going to turn it around.
I believed in the Carlton George Harris forged with all of his wisdom and all of his cunnning and his ruthlesness in turning a club around and creating the greatest sporting club this country had seen
Im an old man now, the club is treading water. We dont have a vision or the gut instinct to recreate greatness again. Instead were hoping things might turn around. There is no cutting edge about the way the club conducts itself. Its not ruthless with mediocrity and the football landscape has changed.
With every season that slips by its more apparent this club is no longer a leader but instead complacently snuggles into the bosom of its past fingers and toes crossed for miracles as it sucks from the now dried teats of the legacy George Harris and Ronald Barrassi.
Where medicrity now reigns supreme.
This saddens me.

Sincerely Synbad

Not shaking Kirk's hand before the bounce looked so pathetic......it was a pre season game FFS!!! Not sure what the focus was all about!!

He would not have gone very well in a debate. Logic is not his go. Lazy thinking is. Lots of generalised slurs and slanders on dedicated servants of the Club.
e.g. players "chasing easy kicks". WTF is that supposed to mean?
George Harris's presidency was 30 years ago and Sinbad's tune is that times have changed since 1995. But he wants Harris's ways brought back???
In the end Harris was sacked and rightly so.
I understand Bondi's disappointment at the players staying at arms length from supporters at training in Sydney.
If I was a player and I read TC I'd be very wary of supporters.
Sticks was good with supporters but TC didn't exist then.

There you go again Sinbad. Thanks for proving my point.
"grade A APOLOGIST" = lazy thinking. WTF does it mean? generalised slur.
In your clutching at straws to attack anyone with a different view you slander and cast slurs on the Club.

Get a room guys.

This thread is for bagging out Brock McLean, based on a single NAB Cup game.

This thread I assumed was about Breock's game last night.
Forget about Ratten's influence on the game for a minute.

I was disappointed with his output and influence on the game.
That's not bagging Brock, that's just saying it as I saw it.

I was expecting more from a man possessed to succeed at his new club.
I was expecting to see a man who has discovered new found enthusiasm for the game and one who is in the best shape of his career.

Was anybody OK with his game last night?
Did anyone not expect any more from him last night?
Was anyone not surprised he had only 5 (?) possessions for the game?

I'm not saying he wont get better, just that he was disappointing last night.
I followed him a fair bit last night.
He seemed lost a bit, and a lot of the time his opponent was able to just make space for himslef as Brock wasn't interested in an opponent last night.

Maybe he heard Kirk is a sloppy poppy?

I admit it didn't look terribly good but old Ch 10 gave it a good old go, didn't they?
