you can judge him anytime u like....on his gameplan... u dont have to judge him on his previous..51 games.. plus NAB cuppers... you can choose to judge him on round 5 this year if you like .. of course...

cos its all gunna turn around.... the overpossession and clueless entries forward will come good by round 5.. its the magic cut off round for the gameplan to kick in...

Well i hope youre right.....!!!

ill be watching for it...

cos i dont want us to be shit till they get the balls to seperate a mate from the herd.. cos that might be in 2 or 3 years of wasted years

yep but.. round 5 places u securely in the realist cataguory...

Dont know what to make of tonights game.
Thats terrible news about Fisher, i dont remember him getting injured.
Kreuzer is not a key forward, put him in the ruck where he is a much better player, please dont ruin his career playing him in the wrong position.
Henderson tried hard but the disposal was woeful to him so it was hard to judge.
Yarran looked good but needs to improve his kicking.
Have no idea what was wrong with McLean.
Bower was our best.
Gibbs had a better second half.
Agreed Davis and especially Lucas looked good.

I know it was only a NAB cup match but i agree with others that we are in for a long year. Fev took 2 good defenders each week and our weakened forward line will really struggle without him. I think the realisation of a Fevolaless forward line is only just starting to sink in.

And you know, the thing I really hated about the whole match was the fact that no one got my heart pumping. Fev always did cos he could change a game. Apart from Yarran ( who showed a lot but didn't deliver) there was just emptiness- a bit like watching Sydney each week. If we do win some games, I really don't want to win 'ugly'. I'd actually prefer to lose and have some fun. I've always gone to the footy to enjoy. If I want boredom I'll become an accountant.

im not negative... im just a realist...

hey... and remember... Roos had to do without half a forward line.. Hall... OKeefe and Olaughlan... and he found himself a guy we could have done with.., if Ratts cant use his brain to work out how to get through lines of defence.. he should have gone for a guy like Jetta.. who can run through them and put them on the backfoot to cause havoc
First round nab cup loss, let's write off the season. Great chance to kick into the coach...lol!

Rest of us with perspective might wait a little longer.

I measure success on performance not from guessing (guessing is not realistic  ). On performance alone, I am happy with ratts thus far.

Good luck. Try to keep the screaming and hysterics down over the next few weeks and you'll get to post your "thoughts" a few more times I'm sure. It will be great to read.

You definitely provide some amazing insights into the Carlton Football Club Synbad, many things the average punter, such as myself have never considered. Many times I am completely blown away by the in depth things you post. It is a great pleasure to read the stuff you post on this site. Thank You!

Do you think we played okay tonight? Or were we a bit underdone?

Do you think we played okay tonight? Or were we a bit underdone?

youre changing the topic verbs... anyway.. back onto the footy... underdone .. from 4 weeks of holidays???

its a 48 week job...

why would anyone be underdne unless theyre first year draftees???

and we cant have been more underdoine than anyone else can we???

surely....

logic would say... everyone is in the same boat....

but we can come up with excuse after excuse...

we dont have fev ..

they dont either.....

we are underdone... hmmm so must they be...

but its the system youre looking for... structures.. drillings.. things you have been working on all summer.

Overall- really poor general skills.
If we kicked and handballed properly our structure may have looked good.
Apart from the going backwards before forwards thing which just gives opposition time to get back.
Essendon* won alot of games last season with the kick and hope into the forward 50 approach. Bombing it forward from contest, etc and sometimes it worked sometimes it didnt but didnt give opposition time to set up and it come down to luck and who read the ball the quickest.

Also why when a defender marks it they always handball it to the guy running behind them, their not in space, our players havin made leads/space to kick to either. It just creates a confusion and turnovers.

Some of the problems tonight should be easily noticed and addressed before round 1

If we have been aiming to use this team all season then fair enough.

Let's hope this isn't our number one side to carry out our game plan all year.

PS: if you want to (still) intimate I am a schizophrenic after all these years, combined with a now moderator wishing I slashed my wrists, you are treading on very shaky ground.

Anyone would think we belted by 100
they kicked 1 more goal than us and that's only because Jetta was given a free for tripping over his on feet

That was ridiculous. How he got a free is mind boggling. But then again, the umpires hear the train's whistle and think that's the siren.
