silly to base it on one game i know, but looking at our forward options tonight, id say were in for a LONG LONG year.

i got the feeling watching tonight that weve lost so much more than 80 goals by trading fev. how many goals did he create with the fact that he dragged 2-3 defenders with him?

Fev or no Fev... we didnt even control the game... chip chip chip.. shithouse gameplan... shithouse structures.. players didnt have a clue what to do.... more of the same.. except Fevolaless......

Fev made Ratts look ok..to the unobservnt me thinks.....

Everyones players come on and look like they have a grasp of the game except our own....

In my opinion youre going to really see Ratts exposed as the coach hes pretending to be this year.

Probably a good thing...may force a few changes off field...where we are still miles behind other teams....

Fevola made Ratten look good. Fevola made Carlton look good. Ratten doesn't have Fevola. Carlton doesn't have Fevola.

Fin.

Swans/Roos gameplan didnt look much different from ours. It was a scrapfest. They were a tad bit cleaner and nailed some nice goals that got them over the line which didnt seem to bother us much.

Big calls by Synbad and Eddies and the Cruisers after a scrappy first Nab cup game of the year. Up there with those writing off Kreuser and Henda as forwards after that one game.

There seems to be a disturbing trend here.

Any side we seem to play....seem to have much better equiped 1st year players than us.

Jetta and that wranger from the swans looked a class above our first and second year players eg. davies, yarran garlett ect.

Now dont jump on me boys but it just seems that way.

so sydney without a forward line.. no backline and no midfield... have the same gameplan as us.. only they do it better???

thats what youre saying right????

actually they have their own gameplan.. wee just dont have one... thats why theyre better at it than we are.. ours looks like their organised scrap fest.. just that ours is a disoraganised scrap fest....

tell me what you saw today.. from those closed training sessions???

was it the kick across the full back line to jacobs the quarterback???

you must have noticed that tactic... right???

Hey..let's just remember...this response from supporters happens every year..

It's ugly...but irrelevant...a long way to go yet.

No big loss, as it was basically just a one goal loss if you take away the extra points for thier two 'super goals'.
Some observations:

Kane Lucas showed some good signs
Judd was his usual self
Hendo didnt do much and needs to have stronger hands
Kruezer was wasted up forward
Yarran looked our most threatening forward
Bower and Jamo did ok down back
Warnock will be all the better for his first propper hitout since playing with Freo in late 2008
Our disposals still need improing... too many sloppy turnovers
Our kick in problem still hasnt ben fixed

Just back from the game - Swans craked it up pe early in the third show like they wanted it more

Hendo ????
Yarren got a bit of it kept missing
Kruezer seemed more intent on ringing the ball to ground rather than marking
Lucas was good like the look of him
Davies showed a bit but sloppy disposal
Warnock was ok
Garlett quiet
Mclean so/so
Gibbs looked disinterested
Brown teach him to kick

cant remember much else - they were not trying to hard you could see that

Nice place to watch the footy I thought

They were good...not excellent..... but not as good as Jetta and Rohan
