For some on here it will be the end of the world.

Skills were poor and we moved the ball without authority. Pity anyone trying to play forward tonight.

Yarran and Bower the highlights for me, Lucas was solid also.

- I was disappointed in Henderson's performance. Looked Slow and Weak.
- Bower was great
- Lucas was looking good too
- We needed Simmo and Murph a lot of run was lost without them
- Looked like we were going easy to be honest

I thought Henderson played well. He kept crashing in and presenting, plus showed some nous and athleticism - the marks and goals will come.

Hope McLean had a virus or something.

We missed Simmo and Murph skirting packs

Funny how our tall backs actually seem the most assured part of our line up.

WYSIWYG - But slow improvement.

Yarran will get a lot better. Henderson needs more muscle. Thornton used a bit it the forward line.

Rats gameplan worked perfectly.... Don't show your cards too early. Not sure if Rats was holding any aces but..

was worth watching......a work in progress. I like the look of Henderson - he has a crack.

id imagine the coaches box got a bit of a surprise.

Only disappointment for me tonight was the lack of intensity from a majority and the lack of presence from Gibbs.

Don't want to give too much away...... but our game plan is to get the ball in backline, kick to the opposite side to where we get the ball, run it a bit then kick to a contest on the wing while half a dozen blokes stand around not really doing much.

Also when opposition has the ball, two blokes go for the tackle, then let the guy with the ball simply pop it over the top to their free team mate who then runs off with no one chasing them....

Also to get Brock McLean to take the best tagger out of the game....

Hope other clubs don't pick up on it.... :banghead:

Going to be a long year....... very long.....

On a positive, we got some cobwebs out of the system, some of the young blokes had a run around in our jumper.

They should make a difference.

If Grigg can't learn to kick soon he may be playing a lot of VFL.

Just having a CHF was exciting. Henderson was probably playing his 3rd AFL game as a forward so that was pretty impressive. Kept leading and presenting. Seemed to be in all the right places just lacked the strength, experience and the marking form that time will bring.

Was just a hit out tonight. No balance in the side at all. Doubt the players even looked at the scoreboard.

Take home message from tonight: Gibbs needs to shave his head again. Much more imposing look last year

Yarran kicked two of the best behinds you'll see this year....

Noticed Grigg was off for much of the game and he got a heap of in the last quarter.

Our forward line will be a MASSIVE work in progress this year, my expectations aren't high.

Lucas and Davies both looked good.

Was Warnock subbed in the second half?

Mclean should have shook hands with Kirk.... Kirk would have probably let him have a kick if he did lol

Biggest positive for me is that I identified some real cheap Dreamteam and Supercoach players tonight

I loved how we turned our defensive attacks into opposition goals tonight...

That ball must have been slippery as tonight, maybe if we didn't cancel our practice match because of the rain players might have known how to play with wet balls...

big things i was looking at - warnock, yarran, mclean, henderson, lucas, forward line
was happy with warnock - always worked in front, worked hard down low too
yarran showed some great glimpses and for longer periods than last year - hope he keeps moving in the right direction
mclean was disappointing. bad karma after ignoring kirk before the match (i reckon that's just stupid bravado - would prefer they shook hands before the match rather than give each other hugs afterwards!)
henderson presented well. will learn. will get better. has a bit of presence about him.
lucas - exactly what i was expecting. promising late 1st rounder.
forward line didn't look very organised. that was expected. was hoping for a bit more but we need to try things and keep learning. not sure if kruezer's best position is forward line - would prefer to see him ruck and rest in forward line. or if he plays forward may need to play a reiwoldt-type role - running up the ground a lot more and setting up play coming back towards goal.

thought bower was excellent. russell got better, apart from kick outs. not sure about jacobs. not sure about browne. but one NAB match does not say too much...

does anyone know what time the bris game will be?
