It is a great opportunity to promote CFC.

Interstate travel to Sydney will be an annual event come GWS, so the future is not far away.

It's time to sow the seeds in Sydney CFC.

Many a Carltonian based on Sydney is a member despite not attending many games. I'm lucky as I see them a fair bit around the country and of course Melbourne because I travel a fair bit. The point is that there are plenty of potential supporters let alone members to come from this market.

It is time to start spruiking and let the existing Carltonioans based in Sydney to encourage impartial supporters to support Carlton and no doubt many of those once hooked will become members.

Hawks go to Tassie to build their brand and supporter base.
Doggies like to go to Darin to do the same.
Roos have tried the ACT and GC, but it's all against them.

Lets smwll what the Blues are cooking interstate.

Imo the last time Carlton played in Sydney was at Homebush. We got flogged but our support was there for the boys, and I'd say the supportl 50/50.

Lets take a big picture view and get the boys to meet the supporters.
Do it on Sunday morning and then fly out after lunch. Use your brains Carlton. It's called 'OPPORTUNITY" to grow the brand and show appreciation of your folllowers/ members.

Don't forget, surveys have consistently shown that Carlton has a huge supporter base in Sydney/NSW. But year after year, they choose to ignore us.

Not good enough.

For those that are going to Blacktown, and you don't have tickets, there are reports that there are limited tickets available. Might be a ruse, but if you haven't got tickets, just go to the below.

Surely that will convince the club to do a pre-game function???? :?

A little birdie tells me that we are about to announce an open training session at Blacktown on Friday. Supporters will be encouraged to attend, and there will be opportunity to meet the players and get autographs. Expect to see something about this on the club website very soon.

I know this won't be convenient to many... but the NSW Supporters Group pushed as hard as they could, and the result is certainly better than nothing at all.

If you're not a NSW supporter, don't pass judgement on those that are. The fixture has been out for almost 3 months & we're less than 4 days out from the game & still nothing official has been organised & communicated to the fans.
Poor form....

Given its now Wednesday it would be nice for the club to actually communicate their plans if they have any, some of us actually have jobs and may need to organise time off.

You might be better off going to Bigfooty or the Swans board to try to get tickets.

Apparently NSW supporters are 2nd class citizens and whinge and complain.

Personally I think some on this board are getting precious and take the Blues for granted. As a supporter who jumped on board in the late 90's/early 2000's and not having much success over the years, as someone who stuck with the Blues even though the administration of the Collins and Smorgon years was appalling, to think we may be turning the corner and yet those interstate get shafted.

Disappointing. Taking things for granted are what got this club into its predicament in the first place.

If Friday is on, I will be there. And for you Victorians who think of interstate and international supporters as poorer cousins, you're just more religious, correct!? I am sick of some people on this forum thinking that non-Victorian supporters are "not as good" as Victorian ones because we don't go to see many games.

The club can do better than continue to satisfy the cravings of people with that mentality than by fulfilling their appetite.

Hey i'm with you all the way brother.
Sometimes I wonder if we don't live on that big river in Egypt rather than the Yarra.
Hope you get a decent meet and greet,
and give a big yell for the boys from us.
Go Blues!!
(starting to get pre game butterflies already!!)

Bugger!

We will be leaving on Friday to go to Sydney, but won't be able to get there till late evening due to work.

Would have been nice to see the boys train and play as well...

Oh well I can still look forward to seeing the game live at least. Hopefully we wont have too many problems getting a car pack at the ground - I tried getting an idea on what parking there is like and I am still waiting to hear back from the Blacktown Olympic Stadium guys

Just spoke to a mate at GWS - parking will be $10 and parking will be very limited - you have to get in early. There will be shuttle buses operating to and from the station from what I was told (i assume doonside).
