Promises to be a terrific match up when we finally play the WE.
Hammer may not be as rounded with his ball skills, nontheless will surprise many outside of the club.
And despite all the talk this week about the cox\NN double act - it pales in comparison to our triple act (no disrespect to Jacobs either)

No it doesn't. WCE are extremely fortunate to have Nic Nat.... he'll do things that will amaze for years to come. Poor Jack Watts.... he'll cop it forever being taken ahead of Nic Nat.

As for us Kruezer will be a gun, Warnock will be a good ruckman, I'm not convinced with Hammer yet.

Nic Nat will probably be the best player in the competition very very soon and Cox is a proven champion, we don't compare.

I have big hopes for Hammer. I think he is just a tad higher level of confidence from really being an awesome package. He has tantalised with snippets of amazing play. Finding sticky hands would elevate him for sure

Nicnat on the other hand is an out and out freak!
Dont think Hammer can offer that much excitement

I am not a naysayer or prophet of doom but who did he actually play on in this game?

Exactly. He will get a tag like Juddy and Ablett every week. Then we can see how good he is. Another question mark is that he is so athletic, one injury may just take the edge off and bring him back to the pack.

But until then, when we play WC I would love to see Hammer tag him. Wow.

He played on everyone. He was everywhere ! It will be fun watching him play for the next 8 years. Not fun when he plays us though.

Hampson looked great the other day also. He looks confident and has realised he has a massive frame and was puting it to great use. One stage he had the ball and just let blokes bounce off him.
When his legs fill out a bit he will become stronger again. He just needs to get his marking about 15% percent better and our whole forward line will be unstoppable with him sitting back in the goalsquare and henda leading up there is going to be a lot of room to work for the other forwards.

...it's his incredible athleticism that carries him now.. ..once he picks up the gamke and can kick he'll be really damaging.. ..however, what will really make him an out and out star is if he develops true footballer 'smarts'.. ..the Krooz understands footy, that will enable him to be leading the pack of these young rucks coming thru.. ..i think Hammer will be the equal of NicNat.. ..just as tall, will be just as big muscle wise when both fully mature.. ..i think Hammer is a bit faster, and only a tad shorter in his leap.. ..but i think Hammer is a bit more likely to dive in and put his body on the line like Krooz does, Nicnat so far seems more to skirt around the edges.. ..but way early days for nicnat still..

I believe that hughes was on record as saying that if NicNat had been eligible he would have taken him over Kreuzer. This is a year before NicNat was actually drafted. Given the minor showings we have seen of him so far he might have been on the money (about his ability - dont take this as a criticism of drafting kreuzer). If Judd had been happy to stay in WA we could have had both of them! EDIT: Actually... no it was the draft after so that wasnt going to happen... still would have been nice!

Be intereresting to compare Kreuze and NicNat. I suspect Kreuze will be the more consistent no nonsense player whereas NicNat will do more of the spectacular.

..NicNat will be a freak, but i don't think he will have the Krooz's presence.. ..in that final vs brissie, 1st Q Krooz taps the ball, and charges forward to recieve the ball back and bomb a goal from outside 50.. ..it was a huge play for a young kid in his first final.. ..i remember the players jogging back and just the expression on S.Black's face when he looked to Krooz said it all..

One of the great things we get from recruiting Kreuzer is the infectious benchmark he sets for 2nd, 3rd & 4th efforts: Hammer and Jacobs do it.

We don't know about Warnock's 2nd and 3rd efforts (he did it in the intra club) but we do know that the other 3 ruckmen treat the ball like a bone, and they are hungry to win the ball, with a never say die attitude. Thank you Mr Kreuzer: Nicholsesque.

Hammer was a fantastic 2nd ruckman in 2009. Best we've had for over a decade. We all know about his speed, his height and his leap: Nic Nat type stuff, except Hammer is taller, faster and jumps higher of the 2.

The only complaint I hear about Hammer is his inconsistency at grabbing the mark. He puts himself in the right positions to mark (how could you not with his physical attributes), but misses a lot. That's because of hard hands, confidence, inexperience, strength.....bla bla...we don't really know.

I'm just glad we got Hammer at pick 17 when we didn't have the luxury of getting Nic Nat at pick 2.

Hammer hasn't been reognised by many supporters yet. They're suspicious and bruised from the past decade, so I understand. I have been impressed with Hammer from from his first goal he kicked, and his development over the last 2 years.

I reckon that's hats off to Hughesy. Hammer will step up year after year imo.

Both are young, and have enormous potential and difficult match ups.

Hammer vs Nic Nat: Bring it ON!!!!!!!!!!!
