I think it is going to be a frustrating year in part, and I think this is why some fans are perhaps not as excited about this season as they might have been in recent years. Don't get me wrong, I am still keen, but there's something a bit different this year, and for me it's bec I think we might struggle to kick goals I don't think any of Kruezer, Hampson, Warnock, Setanta, Henderson are ready yet to totally tear a team apart and bag 6+ gls. What we need to hope for is that come 2011 some of these lads will be able to dominate games as fwds I think Waite is the only player who could kick 50+ gls this year, but if you play him mostly fwd you rob peter to pay paul I know we are trying to share the load and I think that is a good thing, but even Mooney kicked 67 gls in 2007 when the Cats won the flag and likewise Lynch kicked 65 gls in the year WC won the flag - so while it is good to have multiple avenues to goal, there's an argument you still need 1 player who can bag 60+ gls a year (Swans were a defensive oriented team, but they still had Hall and Micky O) Who is going to do that for us in the next few years? I reckon Waite is good for 3 gls a game = 66 gls a year But he is such a good interceptor and re-bounder from defense. Hammer is still learning; and Henderson is only 20 and is not ready yet to dominate And Kruezer many of us think it would be madness to play him out of the ruck for the majority of his game time But then you could argue Fevola only averaged 4.5 gls a game and the team went to him (about) 40% of the time?? So that means we need to find 4.5 gls a game from 40% of our fwd 50 entries. When you break it down that way it doesn't seem that bad does it The DREAM would be that all of Kruezer, Hampson, Warnock, Setanta, Henderson become like Tippet in the next couple of years - 198+cm who can bag 6 gls on their day
