As we have no game write up. I had a tour of the new facilities the other day and thought I might mention some highlights in case anyone was interested.

I think everyone is familar with the front section that contains the gym, the running track and the football oval detailed on the floor. This section also will contain the high altitude training room and some extra equipment is yet to arrive. The $80000 treadmill is as impressive as its price tag and waite has been using it extensively.

The buidling has been designed to flow from station to station to make things easier for our boys to remember  e.g they walk off the ground to the boots station, then they hand their jumpers in, then through the showers, then to the lockers and then to the rehab areas.

The medical area is impressive and resembles a hospital. Amazing given what they used to have. There are stations exclusively for strapping, 4 massage tables and then another room for myotherapy.

The theater is complete and i would say it would seat about 50 to 60. each chair has a little fold out table so players can take notes etc.

The locker room is prety standard although the lockers are wood and not metal like the old ones. Players who ahve played 100 games have been updated on the new ones as have the blue beleivers who forked out the 20k.

The facility also contains 2 infinity spas, the ones that you use to swim against the current and 2 large hot cold ice baths. Curiously these have treadmill bottoms so you can continue to walk whilst recovering and these treadmills also go up and down so it can cater for the warnocks and the betts' amongst the group.

Next door to this is the indoor pool. probably about 20 meters so more a walking pool than a lap pool.

finally backing onto the main gym is like a pro physio area. This resembles a bondage room with apparatus with all sorts hanging from them including furry handcuff looking things (not the levi kind) I think this room is designed predominantly for rehab stretching etc.

The communite area wasn't quite complete but the function room looks great. Overlooks the ground and opens up onto a concrete terrace for those balmy nights. I wonder if the missus wil let me have my wedding reception there.

The top story of the facility is all administration including a large kitchen wind down area. The players also now have about 8 fixed stations with lareg impressive IMac comnputers that they can review their games on.

All in all very impressive and i got the feeling that many are amazed that is actually happened and can't beleive how far thay have come in terms of facilities.

lets hope this translates to some success on the field.

Little wonder they struggle with off field decision making.

Appreciate that kernafides.

Good luck getting your missus to be to allow to allow the wedding reception.

No shock that the boys are using mac computers - much more superior.

Yeah, I can tell.

Just out of curiosity kerna, did you pay to go on the tour, or was it free? Can anybody take a tour?

Thanks Kerna.

The challenge is to maintain the edge and not get lapped by other teams.

I think the tour was compensation to those that attended VISY Park yesterday after the intra club match was cancelled.

They might have something similar at the Family Day

Fixed. Don't let her catch you claiming ownership to any component of the wedding.
